So is anybody else here just beginning college? Today was my first day and I just got done with my last class and I can't believe how much better this is than high school. I can do whatever i want, whenever i want, and however i want. And not to mention i have 3 cool suitemates and an incredible rec center to go and work out and play basketball. So if anyone else is a freshman in college give your views on how its been so far

I start October 3rd. My school is only 15 minutes down the road, so it's perfect for me. I have a hard time waking up. I love my sleep:)

I just got to my school literally five min ago. I go to tn tech. We do not start school until Monday, and i can't actually move into my dorm until tomorrow, my room mate is awesome. I am staying at my friends aparment tonight and when he gets back from walmart we are having a smoke session. A word to new freshman, the best place to smoke is at a friends house or apartment, so try to find some upper class friends to chill with also. Also remember that getting in trouble on a school campus for possession is better than getting caught int he real world.

This won't be my first year, but I love college honestly.
A few tips for you guys just starting out.
1) Night classes. Less people in the classes, and no waking up early with hangovers.
2) Talk to everybody. You never know who will turn out to be the best hookup, the best study partner, or the best lay you've ever had.
3) Actually go to class.
4) Plan everything to turn in the day before it's due. Your computer will crash, your printer will run out of ink, the computer lab will be closed, your car will break down. At some point you will run into a problem that will keep you from finishing something if you save it until the last day.

college rocks. i really hated it the first few months tho, because i went to my last choice school. then i realized that i have to make it work for me and that i can take advantage of a lot of things no matter where i go. so its got some ups and downs but its cool overall

I just came home from my first day of college. Beats the hell out of high school. The freedom and the insane amount of hot chicks makes this place a freakin' mecca for me. There's always things to do, people to talk to, no matter what. It's such an awesome place. It's too bad class gets in the way of the fun.

Yes the cost is definitely the down side of college. I was lucky enough to squeeze through a loophole that granted me in-state tuition to a great college in a state I never lived in before I got down there for classes :D
And I have a rich dad who I haven't spoken to for 5 years but that legally obligated himself to pay for my college thinking I was never going to go :D

I've taken 1 year of a BA, but now I'm starting Business Administration September 5th. It definately beats highschool, mainly because there's none of the popularity, gossiping, general social bullshit. You're there to study, get the education and skills you paid for, and everything is your responsibility (so punishment for skipping a class).
What I will recommend to nubies is don't ever miss a single assignment. Unlike highschool, you can't afford to just let one go, it'll feck you over good.
Also try to participate as much as possible in class, it'll help your marks in many respects. lol, I was always so introverted in class normally, but if I smoked a joint before class I'd talk the teacher's ear off and he actually loved the conversations I gave him. No idea I was high either haha.

I was expelled from high school, so i finished all those classes plus a general studies diploma in two years at my community college and i didnt really find it all that much different from high school. I'll be starting university on the 5th of september and I'm very excited. I'm majoring in biochemistry, with plans to get into medical school and i can hardly wait to get started now that I know what I want to do with my life. The plan is to work my ass off and get As in everything. :)
I love learning!!

I had to go to a community college cause I didnt really have a plan after high school and I got fucked becuase they never sign me up for enough classes and I keep telling them I want to transfer and guess how many credits I have that will transfer after 2 years.....0. I think communtiy colleges are BS now and hopefully after this year I can get the hell out of there and move on to a bigger and better REAL college. Community college = high school with smoking sessions in my car between classes and no homework.

Its been a few long years since Ive had the money for college but I miss the fuck out of it!! A good tip for college kids going to new cities... get a part time job in the restaurant industry waiting tables. You get cash at the end of the night, you can always manage to get free food somehow, and everybody there does drugs. Its the simplest and easiest way to get good, reliable connects. In the last week since starting at Dave and Busters Ive upped my connects by like 10 numbers.

My suitemate last year who is gonna be my roomate this year has plenty of connects.
Last time we bought weed a guy came to our room and unpacked his backpack, he was loaded. And he said that's nothing cuz his friends have six pounds of weed to sell until the next harvest lol.

I've taught college kids for the past 12 years and I love them to death! But sometimes they are such knuckleheads, it just makes you wonder what they are thinking! But then I remember how I was at that age:D
College is too expensive to party it away, however, so if you find yourself not doing your work for school and failing classes as a result, you need to seriously rethink things. You will really get out whatever you put into the college experience. And remember, no one can teach you anything against your will- you have to do the work for the learning to take place.
But above all, enjoy the discovery process. Sometimes students limit their learning because they are unable to receive- they resent someone telling them how to do something- but that is exactly what learning requires! Be a sponge and absorb EVERYTHING!
and have fun on the weekends:smokin:

I wish I could go to an actual campus but alas I have to go online for my education needs. I work full time also as an IT specialist. I'm starting a bit later than most of the people I graduated high school with. That happens when you join the Air Force out of High School, get married, get discharged honorably, and realize that the career field you chose won't help you out with a fucking thing. I take 2 classes every 8 weeks. I'm going for my B.S. in Network and Communications Management. That's one great thing that the Military did do. The G.I. Bill. I get $1,075 a month for going to school full time. Gotta love that $. College is friggin expensive as hell.

Illinois State, and it's fun as hell. :)
First day I just walked around and asked people to burn one down..met some cool kids, and switched roommates and moved in their triple. Definitely a good choice.
