Looks like there is some yellowing on my clippings after 3 days.
They have been only give tap water via 2 mistings a day.
Rockwool is moist and the light and temps should be good, a little humid if anything.
Can I foliar feed them with Botanicare Pure Blend at 1/4 or 1/8th strength every 2 days or is this too much? or not at all and stay with the tap water until transplanting, then give em da food.

Don't give them tap water at all if you can help it - too many additives like chlorine that will burn the plants. Use distilled water (you can let your water sit out with a large surface area on top for a few days to achieve this). Clones usually have yellowing at the bottom after a few days because, as the new root system begins to grow, the little plants feeds on themselves for food. Finally, I would recommend waiting until the plants have established themselves before adding nutes, similar to seedlings.

No nutes without roots
Don't spray to the point of runoff
I mist my clones with city water but only when they are wilty, otherwise, I just mist the inside fo the prop dome- prevents rot from water sitting on the fresh growth
Yellowing is not a bad thing for the reason d9 said.

did you pH-balance the rockwool cubes first ? ... :smokin:

eeeee!
nope..
I didn't know I had too.
I did soak them in 48hr tap water though, for a few minutes...
corrective action required?

Well, here they are.
Moms seem to be very mature as there are pistils everywhere. Still on 18/6 and this will be approx the eighth week. There sisters just went into flower.
The babies make me worry. I know yellowing is normal and some leaves will even fall off, but do these look normal?
They have been in the dome for 5 days now and they get misted twice a day, at wake up and at sleepytime.
Any thoughts?
Should I be concernerd or continue as I was?
Sorry that the pictures aren't that clear, my camera got dropped and has never focused right since...

For the next time you can buy regular rockwool soak, or just use pH water (5.5) and soak for 24 hours. Either works. Just be sure to squeeze the excess water out of the cubes after ya soak em.

The cuttings look pretty good. They are alive anyway and, at this point, that's all that matters.
I would suggest that you space them out on that tray so that they get some air circulating around them. The leaves tend to rot easier when you have them so close together.

good thought. i will space them out and get some air circulation in there.
thanks as always.

11/14 showed roots and they were transplanted into 8" pots with a little rooting hormone and watered with rested tap water .5 litres per plant, PH 6.5, no nutes.
3 wilted to what looks like the point of death after transplanting. I'll still give them a few days in an "incubator" unter 2 cfl's 24/7 to see if they will come back to life.
Thanks to all that help along.

i just started cloning and used the faq version
Text (http://cannabis.com/growing/cloning-how-do-i-clone-plants-smokinrav-s-simple-water-cloning-method.html)
for just plain water
I am 1 for 3 so far and have 2 more that haven't rooted really want them to live since the mothers are in flower now
Anyway else use this method? Had success?

You are probably a little better off to go 24 hours after they start showing the roots. The roots grow significntly in that one day and the plant gets a little stronger.
Some plants really hate to be taken out of the dome and want that humid environmentfor a day or two longer. I always put the newly rooted plants into 18 oz. plastic cups (with drain holes cut in them and lava rock in the bottom) and leave them there for about two weeks then move to a bigger pot. One big advantage to this is that, if a noob transplant starts to wilt, I can put it back under the dome and pamper her for a day or two longer. I've never tried, but I'd imagine that would be pretty hard to do with an 8" pot.

dropped another 3 last night.
Maybe I moved them too soon. There were roots coming out of the rockwool....and it just seemed soooo moist in the dome I was 'fraid for root rot..
I will try them in coffee cups as a first transplant next time. Good tip Pharma.Thanks.
I wonder if I would have better success actually cloning from the mature moms. I just don't want to hack the moms up only to kill the clones and damage the moms, hence requireing a restart from seed.....
Ohhh the trails an tribulations just to get a little personal smoke....

What do you mean when you say "mature moms"?

the three moms that I have are very bushy and have many much pistils.
(see the crappy middle picture above)
the donors that gave me these clippings were about to go into flower, and the clippings I took were from the bottom growth. The clippings were very small (2-3 inches) and if I was to take from the 3 mothers the clippings would be about 6 inches and would have pistils already.
Hope that makes sense.
Wondering If the clippings would be more stable coming from a different area on the plant..top growth as opposed to bottom new growth.

Your clones are going to be the same age as their mother. So, these clones are sexually mature, regardless of their small size, and will have pistils immediately.
I take cuttings from all over my mothers and I have never noticed any big difference in how the cuttings root. But, don't worry, if you have three mothers you will soon have all the experience you need cloning, and so many clones you won't know what to do with them. (You can easilly get 100 clones per month from three mothers. Good luck!)
