A long time ago I met Jesus, and I belived in him. But I was not going to church at that time I ment Him through a friend, but if I did not know him I would have alot of promblems with christianty
that other people have. As a matter of fact Iam a singer songwriter, and alot of my songs are about some of the preachers I see on T.V. some of them look very phony, there fore why should I belive in there message, some might say Iam a modern
john the baptist, and I get the ideas for my songs from people who see these people and wonder why. I love to hear what people
think, I really do, but it can be done in a respectful way, so that what they have to say can really be heard. these are my thoughts
on the subject. PEACE:)

What sort of problems do you speak of?

What specifically made everything click with you, and how exactly, if you dont mind sharing with us, did you find Jesus?

Do you feel that if the televangelists and such are phony as you say, that their message no matter how good, is still questionable? If their intentions arent truely pure, but their actions still lead to positive things, how do you view that?

And I agree, I find that everyone learns more when everyone in the discussion is respectful, of everything possible. Unfortunately, sometimes we get into the heat of the moment, and our civility and respect is diminished, although we dont always notice it, nor do it on purpose. In situations such as those, I would say that it requires looking at what the person is trying to say, instead of how they said it, ... sorta like the televangelist thing, I suppose.

well I met Jesus through a friend of mine a long time ago, he has sence gone home to be with the Lord, ( lucky him lol) and some of the tv preachers preach the old health wealth prosperity gospel that is something the newtestment does not teach, there is kinda a fine line there so one has to be carefull if one choses to watch
church tv.I think that useing tv as a tool to get the message out can be a great thing, but some people use it for there own gain which is what Jesus says when He warns aganst false teachers, when I was in prison I used to here a lot of guys say how they hate some of these tv preachers just coming on tv and always asking for money, so I wrote a song a few years ago that says just come to Jesus and be saved, and dont put your hope in one man (from tv) cause they might let you down, cause are home is not in some big glass dome but in heaven, and are hope is in the Lord and He will never let us down, but there are some very good ones on tv like Charles Stanley from in touch ministry, he sends free newsletters out every mo.and he is a very soild man,hes church is First Baptist Church in atlanta, just in case you are interested. so it is important not to through the baby out with the bath water. but any way like I said before I met Jesus through a friend of mine I was not looking for him because He is not lost I was lost, and that is why Jesus came looking for me because I had lost my way and He came looking for me, and Iam glad He found me. Ill stop right here for now, and if this did not answer your qustion, feel free to ask again and mabey we can narrow it down so that I can be more clear if need be. I know it can be kinda
hard to read a long post. so for now I leave you with peace.:)
