Hmmm...where to begin? lol.

I've been lurking on a couple of other boards and actually started posting over on gardencity.com. I followed a couple of their regulars over here when they left GC.

I'm probably a bit of an anomaly for this board. You see I've NEVER smoked MJ...not once lol. I had a very sheltered childhood which lead to a rather boring adulthood.

A few years ago I had a roommate who smoked and he convinced me that I should try it. BUT it turned out that my roommate was the type of asshole who was happy to smoke everyone else's weed but never paid for any of his own. So none of the blessed herb ever made it home. And to be honest at the time, although I was curious, it wasn't exactly something I was driven to try.

Four months ago, all that would change. I developed an ulcer which means that my habit of spending the occasional evening in scotch-induced bliss would have to come to an end. So my mild curiosity has turned into something of a burning desire. Simply put - being 100% sober 100% of the time 100% sucks :(.

Unfortunately, being the 35-year old corporate desk jockey type has limited my options. All of my friends are either my age or older, and to the best of my knowledge, none of them smoke. And none of them have any kids. And my nieces and nephews are all under 8 so no help there.

So I basically have two options - try some random shoulder tapping  or grow my own.

I'm currently working on the second option. Actually my second attempt at the second option. My first attempt was four plants in soil. Had some issues with nute burn, but eventually got them going well....and they were all male :cursing:

My second attempt is 6 plants in a drip-feed DWC hydro set up. That one's still in progress and has had it's own set of issues, but so far they're surviving and doing well. Hopefully I'll have a crop in another 8-9 weeks and I'll get to see if this is worth all the trouble.

Aside from that other hobbies include computer games (WoW and others), hiking/camping, poker (played semi-pro for a bit), and reading. As I said, pretty boring, huh? :D

So anyway, that's me in a nutshell. I'll probably be spending a lot of time in the growing forums, especially at first. If you see me, be sure to wave lol.

Welcome! That strange that you are 35 and none of your friends smoke. I am 38 and all of my friends smoke. We are all successful smokers

Yeah...strange isn't the word for it. Pain in the ass is more like it lol. I think it has to do with a combination of the type of people that I've been hanging out with and the fact that my circle of friends is a bit small. I've been hanging out with the same 4 or 5 guys for almost 8 years now.

One of my friends used to smoke. But he gave it up 20 years ago when he went into the Catholic seminary.

And I heard a rumor that another friend's fiance's daughter's boyfriend smokes. But I think I've only seen the guy once lol.

Ya know, if I'd have decided to do this 8 or 9 years ago, things would have been easy lol.
