Dear guys
I have a little trouble in my head.
10 hps by 600watts in my grow room, and couple of powerfull inline fans for suckin air out of the room. The whole construction is running under test now. The problem is: when fans are on the humidity in the room falls to a level with out side air (air passively sucked in to grow area from a living room next to it), when fans are off the temp is rising. What can I do about it?
The flowering stage will demand big carbon filter and I warrying about how the high humidity can affect the filter.
Thank you:thumbsup:

give me some numbers..... what's the ambient humidity in your living room area?
Do I understand correctly you have 10 lights of 600w? Whats your humidity in your flowering room? Temperature?

Im kinda havin the same issues as you are so maybe we can work them out together, I have 6x1ooo watt HPS so we're @ the same wattage.
as for carbon filters, they need to be used properly to work properly. I dont think humidity affects it, but I know the speed that air flows through it does. pretty sure they are only supposedto be used @ 2/3 to 3/4 cappacity to get 100% of the odor absorbed.
does this help?

Lights on Exhaust vents OFF
temperature rises above 100f Humidity is around 80-90%
Lights on Exhaust vents on
Temperature is 80-85f humidity falls to level with the room where the air is picked up from which is 50-60% some times falls even lower to 40-30 %.

The only way to achieve maximum control of climate without additional apparatus such as chillers, humidifiers etc is to provide lighting with it's own ventilation as the result we will receive two ventilation circuits 1 lighting 2 growroom, which will allow us more precise control.
But I use Gavita bulbs (they don't need reflector and explosion safe)with ballast next to the lamp and I can't be pissed to build shaders with glass and fan in it for my bulbs. Could anyone offer any othe scheme of what to do about ll it?

What is the problem with these conditions?

~2200 kwh's per month just for lights ? Wow, you guys got a set of titanium ones. If I was running that kind of light and even seen a strange car I would start to cry and piss myself uncontrollably. Stay on your toes guys, please keep your mouth SHUT, and best of luck on your grows.

On the RH/temp issue. You answered your own question. You need to run your fans 24 hours a day. Not 24/7, but maybe put on an intermittent timer and run 15 minutes on, 15 off or something. Could always hook them to a combo RH/Temp controller, too. Pretend your a crash dummy and run em with lights on and watch temps and RH til you get it dialed in.

100 degrees/80-90% RH and you could have spidermites the size of 737's, not to mention bud rot and whatever else.

What happens to RH and temp during dark cycle ? And if smell is a concren, you're going to need to run your fans a good bit anyways. Plants still smell even when its dark.

And always remember, you cannot give your plants enough fresh air. Are you using oscillating fans to blow the hot air up and away from plants between canopy and lights ? That will help with your temps as well.

well I have a thermostat and shit, but my grow is in an attic, and I cant put it anywhere else, so I have to wait till the outside temps drop. when my lights ar off, temp is 69, and when theyre on, its between 75 & 85 depending on outside temps. but were almost in Sept. so problems should go away soon enough for me, just wish I could speed things up a bit!

Air flow is fine, the only issue for me now is humidity and its effect on charcoal filter.
Scheme of ventin is simple, we have air intake from the pottom of one side of the room and exhaust fans on the top of the other side. oscilating fans blowing from intake ....... stooop, heh i just found the easy way for all people, hope you chek it out.

CO2 and cold air a havier than hot air and will be low down with plants. Cold air fron will cove the whole plantation, so all of the girls will be in almost equal climatic conditions. Odour and hot air is sucked out by fan and forced in to charcoal filter.
