I started out with an aeroponic grow in clay pellets. (first grow) It's rockin the ebb n flo now and things worked out pretty well as you can see. There were a few valuable lessons learned I must admit.

Ebb n Flow is perfect for DIY. I wouldn't buy one prefab- not much point. The parts are cheap, the setup is easy for anyone who knows which end of a power drill to hold, and operation is less dependednt upon engineering skill than any other hydro type system. I built one out of an underbed storage tote, some hydroton, a couple feet of tubing, and a cheap pond pump, $15 on clearance at Walmart. There's a grower on marihemp who built a sick one out of a kiddie pool... and DAMN it produces.

ive built some, bought some.....it all depends on your situation.trays etc.. are super easy to build.i wanted to see how it worked so i bought it b/c i have $$$ from growing awesome tomatoes.now i am raging it in that system and just wanted to see someone else's picks using one b/c i see what potential it has.i think it is worth $500 to learn how to build a new type of system by purchasing it.:D

I agree with stinkyattic, you can build one for much less and achieve the same results. With my current grow I think my plants were limited due to the small tray for root growth. I'm going to try 4 plants instead of 6 this time.
However, I too have been curious about the potential of some 5 gal ebb n flo buckets. I wonder if I could produce the same if not more with 2 buckets as opposed to 4 plants in the black tray below.
Have you seen/tried the drip-ring style buckets like this? Similar growth environment for the roots, but they are all individual units. Let us know if you decide to get it and take some pics!!!
