just a quick question for the veterans. my plant has been on 12/12 for about 3 weeks or so. i only have one grow room, so i have been removing my flowering plant and putting her in a seperate dark area at 10 p.m. and putting it back in the light at 10 a.m. while my other vegging plants stay in the closet 24/7. anyways, i'm finally able to just keep my flowering girl in the closet, but i want to change the times that she is in darkness. i want to turn out the lights at 8 p.m. and turn them on at 8 a.m. how can i do this without stressing her out? should i just give her only 10 hours of light one day to get her to my desired timing schedule? let me know what you guys think! thanks...

Just make sure that your plant gets at least 12 hours of darkness or more during the change and the get it set to 12/12.
Good luck!

I had a similar issue on my last grow. My timer f*cked up, and suddenly I was a few hours out of whack. I felt since I was already in flower, the plants were triggering their processes from the dark cycle and getting their energy from the light cycle. So, I adjusted only the "lights on" cycle by going backwards. Everyday I went in prior to "lights out", and changed the timer so that the lights would go out one hour earlier, and come on 12 hours after the "new" time.
That way the dark period remained at 12 hours and the "lights on" period would be all that was changed. Mine showed absolutely no signs of stress because of this. Your mileage may differ.

ugh..... first of all, and this is all imho, but it sounds like you're transporting your plants around.. that causes stress especially in the flowering stage thus lowering your thc levels. You should just keep the plants in one area from seed to harvest unless transplanting into a larger pot.. vegging plants should however stay in a separate room until ready for the flowering room... try starting the flowering period 55 days from seeding then harvest on the 7th week... or 115 days from seeding.. flowering should also be on a 12/12 schedule throughout.. also it would be best to use an automated timer for the lighting that way you wont have to switch the lights on yourself.. and if you suddenly switch a light on for 12hrs it won't stress it out.. it doesnt matter whether the light dims on and off like sunlight or sudden on/offs from a timer.

Moving your plants in the container from here to hell will not stress them out unless they have something to hide... do not mess with the light cycle and you will be fine... but it will become a pain in the ass and you will need to watch the time... and if you have to choose to give a flowering plant more light then dark... go with the dark and then get the time down to the 12/12.... as for choppin in the 7th week.. well that is up to you... most strains are not close until the 8th week or more...
Build you a place to veg your plants and then move them or do what you are doing now and work your ass off..
Good luck!

cool, thanks for the advice everyone! although now i have run into a new problem. i can't quite completely light proof my closet. it is pretty close, but there are a couple small cracks that allow a tiny bit of light in. i know that the bible says anything more than the amount that the full moon would produce can screw up your darkness period. anyone else have any thoughts?

weather stripping.
overlapping plastic, staple it to the inside of one door so when the closet closes the plastic covers the gap.
