I am about to harvest in about 10 days or so and would like some help in these areas :
First of all there is a high % of humidity in this area . Any tips deeling with high hunmidity !.
Second of all , other than flushing two weeks in advance , is there anything else you have to do regarding watering ?
And Anything has to be done regarding Light cycles , I've heard that reducing the light ON time increases crystals ?
Help me out , I don't want to slack at the end .

hang them upside-down in a closet or upside-down in sunshine outdoors if you have a farm area.. not sure if there's anything special to do regarding the humidity... i usually maintain 12/12 thru havest however you could try 11/12 or 10/12 and see if there's any noticeable difference.. i've never done it but im curious if it'd do anything..

Most anything I've read says to keep it at 12/12

1. Never "experiment" with an entire crop. If ya wanna try to lower light below 12 on, then do it with only one plant.
2. If the humidity is above say.....65%, I'd go straight to paper bags, indoors, with a strong fan blowing around your closed bags. Closed, not sealed air-tight.
That's my OPINION, there are better minds here than me though.

Cool dry dark place with indirect wind..
You could use molasses up until harvest..
Give it a try and let us know how it works..
Good luck!

ok dont end up with hay, loose buds. put in maybe glass jar or rubbermaid dish with lid.. open every few hours for for maybe 10 minutes over a week or so.. must let the chlorophyl completly break down.. otherwise harsh hay like! good luck

Alright here is what you do. Cut off about a pound of it dry it, cure it, then put some of that no scent shit on it and send it air mail to my house. lol jk
Na pretty much what everyone said above is what I have read in numerous forums and google searches. So you should do good with following those instructions. especially with the curing method groinkind said. I read that was one of the most important steps ing harvesting.
Anyways good luck. Hope you get some stout shit from your grow.
Oh yeah in reguards to the humidity. Read how air conditioners work. air conditioners remove humidity from the air in the room they are in. So it makes sense to probably dry in an air conditioned room as long as you keep the a/c on low and set the thermostat to reflect how it should feel in your ideal conditions. This is how I maintain a good temp for my plants and even though I am new to it my plants love it and are growing rapidly (out and not up) . So I tend to have a contant 70 to 78 degree window at all times in my room. And this is the room I am going to dry and cure in.
One main thing I have read about growing/harvesting is it is very important to have control over every aspect of the plants life and harvesting. So an a/c is not necessary but seems like a good idea :P
Anyways hope I have helped a little. Good luck man.

Thanks for the link evertking.
Sure I will try to mail at least a pound to you cowboy.
Is it true to let the plant with no water at the end ? and in total darkness ?

Cure for only a week? That's not enough time. Most experts will tell you to cure for at least a month. The minimum to have any impact is usually 2 weeks, though. One week is definitely not long enough to cure. And I wouldn't do the minimum of 2 weeks. In fact, with my crop I will be doing a 2 month cure. Some people will even cure their dried bud for a whole year, to produce the best tasting connoisseur-grade cannabis. That's too much of a stretch for me, though :).
Anyway, for high humidity, I have one word for you:

Back to my question , regarding light cycles , is it good or not to shorten the light cycle at the end and if after flushing , is it better to not give them any more water for a few days or so before cutting ?
Thanks

a couple few days before harvest it would be easier for drying if you could refrain from watering...just make sure they don't get super pissed at you and die..the more time in between watering and harvest, the lesser water in the plants and the buds will dry quicker, may be best considering you're dealing with a high humidity area...if possible maybe try to have it in an air conditioned area..that would be a lower humidity environment..
the paper bags are a good idea...they'll absorb some of the moisture and the fans blowing air around with keep the bags relatively drier...make sure the stems are dry enough that they snap before stuffing them into jars...otherwise you'll end up seeing mold, and that aint no good...good luck

lol so many rumors about curing it amuses me . Heres what 99% of the pros do, manicure it, put it into a bedroom or what ever with no light on (ultraviolet breaks down thc) u want the room to be room temperature .. not humid not dry .. basically like the bedroom in everyones houses should be. Than you either lay it on a screen or you can hang it to dry. Hanging gives the best final appearance kuz bud doesnt get flattened out etc. you leave it in the room with average humidity and temperature for around 7-9 days , you will know its ready when the stems kinda snap when u bend them, at this point you are ready to move to the next stage of cure which is to slowly remove the remainder of the water. if your growing big it will be to time consuming to burp stuff daily in jars .. so the solution? throw it all into a giant 100 litre tupper wear tote and burp it daily to slowly remove the remainder of the water .. this final step of slowly removing the last small precentage of water and chlorophyll is what gives you the nice smooth smoke . The bud is ready to smoke once you start to do the final step in the tupperware container .. but it will improve in smoothnes etc. each day for up to around 2 months , at which point you should bag it all .

if humidity and temps are high than mold will happen and you dont want that when i dry my harvest i trim em good put them in my closet with a dehumidifier(this is what you will need to help with the humidity)with a small fan in the corner up top you want temps around 70 degrees and when you start to cure whitch is almost of an art as growing the plant itself you will want to fill up a mason jar 90 percent full and set it in a closet or in a cool dry place and check on it every 6 to 7 days opening and turning the jar carfully for an hour or so then close it up and put it back in the closet the buds will be kinda like they are rehydrated alittle this is normal and that when you want to open up the jar and let it air out and seal it back up.if you want any more info id say you go to hightimes and go to there grow Q&A there is tons of helpful information on that website

go to seaofgreen.co.uk and look in the advice section @ top right of page.....lots of good info in there..and Im a big SoG fan so I think its awesome, some of the ideas they got in there.
But like ProGrowWannabe said, "dont experiment with an entire crop", its better to compare a couple experimental plants against the rest of your regular grown plants!
Peace!

soon as your leaves turn from green to a little grayish in color ur ready to smoke.. depending certain aspects of the dry ur time may very.. i would say atleast 1 week but 2 be safe 2... and i know of peoplewho, after the 2 week cure they will place in bags then store in cool dry place for a month.. experiment.. try sum upside, sum in the sun, sum in the fridge, sum in a sealed container or glass jar, or even the microwave... peace and happy smokin

i wouldnt leave the jars unchecked for more than a day or 2 in the beginning. mold and amonia smell can come on pretty fast. once you see your buds are consistanlty the same dampness and no strange odors then you can leave them sealed for longer periods of time.

In my opinion putting a fan and a dehumidifier is a terrible thing to do. I would only advise putting a dehumidifier or a fan on it if you dont have a good place to dry it ... such as a room temperature average humidity room.. ( which u should have) .. if you were say trying to dry it in a room that was cold or humid ( like a uninsulated basement in the winter) would be the only way i would advise putting a fan or dehumidifier in ther.. and that would be for the fact that it would take longer than 7 - 9 days to be ready to be put into the sealed environment .. Aka jars .. tupperwear .. bags .
And you hopefully wouldnt be drying it in a cold or humid room .. so ther shouldnt ever be a need for a dehumidifier or a fan .. if you were to for instance have a room temperature, average humidity room, with a fan blowing on it and a dehumidifier going on it .. it would dry to quickly and you would lose alot of flavour, smoothness etc.
The whole purpose of the jars etc, is to slowly remove the last bit of moisture, that is what gives it its smoothness , if u have a fan and a dehumidifier on ther and it drys to quickly, the curing process is ruined. Sorry for the punctuation etc. When i get going i forget about it, hehe for some reason i sometimes lose my train of thought ... "exhales blunt "
O ya almost forget, as for the burping in the jars etc, you have to check it every 24 hours , first time u sweat it it may be to wet and require it to go back on the screen ,, its a very fine line between drying to much before going into jar .. and putting it in to wet. If you put it in the jar and it feel quite wet take it out, wait like 4 - 6 hours or so than try and jar it again and see how it is .. rinse and repeat.

no this is true, you also should keep it cool and dry to promote even drying.
