I just made a 5-minute bong out of a 20 oz Dr Pepper bottle, an old metal bowl/stem made especially for bong creation, a pair of scissors and scotch tape. It's not airtight but I'm kind of in a hurry because I have to leave soon. However, I noticed this bong, which is smaller than most bongs I make (usually with a 1- or 2-liter bottle) gives more potent hits than usual. While pondering this, I decided it's because with a bong, you have to inhale all the air inside the chamber before you can start inhaling the smoke. With a larger chamber, this means you have to inhale more air before you get to the good stuff. With a larger bong, you can get around this by taking whole lungful of air to fill up the chamber with smoke, exhale, and then you inhale what's in the chamber all at once. Maybe it's all in the technique or the design, I don't know, but this bong kicks ass for one so hastily put together.
