So I am thinking about using a negative ion generator to sanitize and deodorize my grow op which will contain 2 flower plants, 2 vegging plants, 1 mother plant, and a DIY carbon scrubber (8"W x 20"L) on the blowing end of a Ecoplus 465cfm blower. The blower will be set at around 300cfm to reduce noise, and also because the entire room is only 6' x 7' and 8' tall. I used the ground carbon instead of the pellets (oops).

also, there will be a muffin fan blowing air from the room into the furnace intake that is in there. I hope there are not going to be problems w/ pushing the air into the duct system faster than it's trying to suck it.

why will you use a ion generator and carbon scrubber. the ion generator should take care of the smell without the DIY carbon scrubber, depending on grow size?

Hmm.. grow size. Me and my friend build this flowering box like 1 year ago, but for various reasons decided it was not safe at the time. I realized just recently as I started the project back up that the thing was an awkward size for 2 plants. It is 22" x 30" x 5' . It probably should just have been 4' tall, but I guess I will just prop the pots up a foot or two. Anyway, the important measurement, I suppose is the 22" x 30" canopy. Growing Papaya -- hoping for a couple oz. but I really don't know what to expect.

Well regardless of size, I'm looking for specific ion generators that folks have found to be successful at eliminating odors. Something about negative ion generators seems like a farce. I'm sure they work, but it would be so easy to say they generator a bunch of ions when they really don't... Who will measure it? Also, will straight up ion generators reduce odor? Or do I need an "ionic breeze" which actually generates ozone?

I tried an ion generator, on 13 plants. Didn't work, worth a damn.

Most peeps use the basic carbon scrubber deal- cheap, effective, simple.
