Trying to make a reflector out of cardboard box and foil. Would that be possible? Here is the picture of how I want it to look like.

i wouldnt use foil, it is not a great reflective material, and i believe it gives hotspots
use a good flat white paint or use mylar.
good luck

Hey i totally did something like this! I just cut a piece of cardboard and glued mylar on one side, after that just give it a bend in the centre and keep it away from any direct contact with the light.

I was too worried about catching cardboard on fire so I made mine out of sheet metal. You can get it at home depot. It comes in a roll so it will already have a parabolic shape perfect for reflecting light. Just slap some mylar or whatever on it and it works great!

I'll post a ghetto idea that doesn't involve cardboard catching fire.
Take a bunch of empty pop cans, and either cut each one to size to fit overtop the CFL...
Or, as I have done in the past, do some cutting, make sure they're all flat and glue 4-5 together for a flat reflector to hang up.
