Wow, I forgot to mention my car. I have an Infiniti Qx4. I am very satisfied with it. It's definately no sports car but it drives great and it has plenty of room for beer and people. Gas mileage isn't that good. It's $50-60 to fill up an empty tank at a gas station around here.

I drive a 02 S-10. It is so slow it makes me almost cry.....and I wish it were a manual cause I hate automatic transmissions. The suspension sucks and you feel every bump, the breaks squeel but everytime I take it in the dumbass rednecks at the dealership cant fix it and I dont have the tools or time to fix it my self.....overall I would never recomend this truck unless your gonna put a big engine in it and a new suspension and pretty much replace everything else that sucks (which is pretty much the whole thing).

Land rover Defender 90 1995 Resprayed British Racing Green
2.5 litre turbo diesel 300tdi engine (soon to be replaced by v8)
Roll Cage with 4 spotlights.

A Bar with 2 x 150 watt spotlights and a winch.
Huge Fuck Off 32inch All Terrain Tyres (Can't remember name)
Racing Seats with Racing harnesses
Snorkel
Alluminium Checker Plating On Bonnet
CD Player With Speakers in back and subwoofer.
Rocksliders and skid plate.
I've put a bigger intercooler on and tweaked the turbo.
http://www.specialist-leisure.co.uk/pictures/rides/gose_1.jpg looks abit like that.
I dunno what else to say..Mileage was good until I played with the engine.
Very satisfied with my car, will go anywhere (literally).
Its a brute.

My other car is a mini cooper (old one).
Very unreliable...(Can't be arsed to fix it).

Also in stages of restoring a land rover discovery to fully racing order.

2001 Ford Explorer. Plates "D N R"

I bought an Explorer after realizing it was the same basic 'carriage' as the Ranger, had one of those and drove the shit out of it, it took a lot of abuse. I became sold on Fords after a buddy sawed his driveline on his 1995(?) F-150 in two on a railroad track, then we drove it fifty some miles home after we stuck a stick in it (the driveline) and used '4 wheel drive' to make it back.

Toyota Corolla, on our second one now, and considering a third. Couldn't be happier, really, just freakishly reliable.

Used to have a nice black Camaro that I modified some to make it look more like Kit, the Knight Rider car, but that thing was A) a gas guzzler and B) a bitch in the winter with the rear wheel drive.

'98 Nissan Maxima. It is a Nissan, and I am a die hard Nissan fan, but there's nothing special about it. It's damn sure reliable but not particularly fast, comfortable or stylish. My past cars fit at least one of those traits. I'm satisfied but not pleased with it.

'95 Kawasaki ZX600. Not too shabby for my first bike. Could've been better maintained by the previous owner. Didn't really realize this til after I bought the bike. But for an old bike she still hauls ass and looks pretty good, except for my crash damage. Sounds awful; needs a new pipe. Can't expect comfort from a crotch rocket...period. Can't wait for something newer, but I'm satisfied for now.

A 2005 Lexus LS 430 that my husband bought barely used from a colleague who was getting a divorce and needed fast liquidity. Smooth car. But I still miss the car I had before it, a Honda Accord.

I don't actually drive anything at the moment. It's been four weeks since I had some neck surgery, and I still have three or four weeks to go on the no-driving-after-surgery prohibition. I still ride, though. And the smoothest ride to be had is in my car.

I love the way that Lexus handles. My grandparents let me drive theirs last time I visited them. I also got to borrow my uncle's Mercedes SL550 during the time I was visiting them (he lives about 15 miniutes from them). It must be nice to get driven around for a while, I hope your recovery is going well

06 Chrysler Pacifica. I love how it absorbs the road and makes you feel safe when you drive, especially since there's usually my young ones in the car. A step up from a tiny kia sephia that my wife drove in college. I like that we supported an American company, I dislike the crappy mpg (20 mpg), but it's a big rig, so it could be worse.

Thanks, Ganja. It is a very nice car to drive. I miss it very much. My diabolical plan is to steal the keys one night and sneak out and drive the neighborhood just to remember what it feels like. I think my husband is onto me, though. He has the keys hidden someplace where I can't find them.

My mom likes the big safe cars. Once I started driving I told her she should get herself a nice sports car or something but she would rather have a big SUV. She ended up buying an Acura SUV (forget the model name).

Acura MDX? Nice ride for an SUV. Quieter than a Honda Pilot. I've test-driven both. I don't know why Honda can't better insulate cars against road noise.

I drive a 1991 BMW M5, stock. I also have a BMW 2002, which has been my project car for 4 years. I've turbocharged it, put an
Ansa exaughst on, a KNN intake, new high degree cams, and have a new ignition system. I've also race stripped the interior, but in a full roll cage, sparco seats, and 5 point harnesses. I'm hoping to change the suspension for better handling, even though it already handles like a dream.

I'd still really like the 2007 Honda Acord, as it's just a great all around car, but I already have two, and the M5 is already a great mix between performance and practicality.

Maybe you can tell - I'm a car person.

1993 Toyota Camry

It's real dirty, dented, and out of date but it still handles amazingly well and has no major problems outside of some broken lights. Only has 99k miles on it too, but I think I'll hit the 100,000 mile mark in about a week or two!

Yes Birdgirl, that's what it was. I googled it and that is definately the one. My mom actually went to look at the Infiniti QX56 yesterday and she was going on about how nice and big it was. As for the Acura, it's not a bad car but I haven't test driven it. My dream car (within reason I mean) is an Infiniti G35. I get it when the Qx4 is in the shop and it's so much fun. I can't help but speed sometimes. :stoned::stoned::rasta:

I *want* a truck, but I keep getting vetoed by the woman on that. I'm retired, and she's retiring at the end of this upcoming school year, so it doesn't make a lot of sense for us to have two vehicles. In a six-week period of time this summer, between the two of us, we put a whopping 300 miles on the car, so 50 miles a week total, for both of us. It's almost not even worth having *one* car, except that'd suck sometimes.

Very nice. Did you build yourself or buy ready done?

Caterham 7 is probably my favourite kit - and eventually i'll build one. I was looking for a donar car a month or two back but i decided to give it a little longer before i start getting everything i need together.

'98 Nissan Maxima. It is a Nissan, and I am a die hard Nissan fan, but there's nothing special about it. It's damn sure reliable but not particularly fast, comfortable or stylish. My past cars fit at least one of those traits. I'm satisfied but not pleased with it.

Nice dude glad to see another maxima owner on here. Same year as mine too. You got the 5 speed or automatic? Cause mines stick and it can get up and go pretty decently if you ask me haha.

Im pretty sure it doesnt do an 8.6... Novas with 502's and Roots superchargers cant even break 9. Im sure some rice rocket couldnt even touch that.

Anyway, I have a 2001 Chevy Impala. All it has right now are 20" Black rims and a sound system... I am tinting the windows next weekend once i get my paycheck.
System is 3,000 watts... Consists of an Alpine flip out head unit, 3 alpine amps, 2 american bass 12" subwoofers, 2 pioneer 6x9s, and 2 infinity 5&1/2s. It knocks pretty hard, I had to put rubber behind the license plate because it kept rattling lol.

And they are also 3 times heavier and much less aerodynamic. I suggest you read up a bit on the power of a 918 hp Supra, my friend.

EDIT: Ive seen 86 mustangs on the speed channel running low 8's with a V8 big block, so I dunno what youre talking about.

I just got a recall notice on my '01 Explorer, (140k miles, 70k of them in the last year and a half) seems a speed control cable can catch on fire, even when not in use or when parked. They actually state in the notice "Until you have the recall service performed, park your vehicle away from structures to prevent a potential underhood fire from spreading."

If my truck catches on fire while parked and not even running, and burns down the whole fucking building, I promise I'll post pictures :D

Sweet Camaro Slip. Whats it got in it? BB or SB? anyway, I have like four.
1994 F-150 with Paxton supercharger (gets like 4 mpg)
1987 Nissan Pathfinder (good gas milage, and its a 4x4)
1983 Dodge Mirada (hauls ass, but again like 6 mpg)
1964 Chrysler Newport Station Wagon (looks cool as hell, and I think this one is more gallons per mile)

Of all my cars, I think I like the Pathfinder the best. It always gets me where I am going with not so much as a hiccup, looks non-descript, has dark-ass tinted windows, and a good system. The F-150 has been nothing but problems, when I first got it, when you would stomp on it, the truck would act like it wanted to take off, and then it would just make alot of noise but not go anywhere, turned out to be the tranny. $1200 later, the motor took a shit, so I rebuilt it, and added some extra ponies, but now it gets such terrible millage I don't drive it anywhere. That and the body is completely falling apart around the truck. The Dodge Mirada is a cool enough car, it's just cranky. Like I said, it hauls ass, but you can go out to start it one morning and it just wont fire. And the Station wagon i can't drive anywhere with out a tool box and the entire inventory for Auto Zone in the trunk (It would probably fit) It's just really old, and everything is original.

Nissan badged thier cars as Datsun for the American and European markets because they believed that after WW II Nissan would remind buyers of Nippon, which as you may know was a major manufacturer in the Japanese war machine.
During the 70's the standard of Datsuns was so poor that the name was holding back the brand so they decided to restructure and relaunch under the original company name of Nissan. The unification of the brand also meant they weren't trying to market one product under two names.

you never herd of it cause people dont put em into cars their made for big diesle rigs, HP out the rear was over 425, however they said they were gonna switch to methanol so I can only guess that it will have over 550 hp out the rear tires. for a little 4 banger that is preaty solid, for the time

I wish, im in the same boat with as you with wrong wheel drive aka fwd. Even with my minor engine upgrades compared to some, torque steer is getting worse. I get you can never have enough saftey but how fast do you expect to get these little 4-6 bangers going. I love cars too but I always get these guys that want the best 4 banger around, I tell em to put more cup holders and a fridge, cause you will never beat me in stock v8 or a stock Gixer

HickSS
12-10-2007, 03:19 AM
Gixer hell no. Most supercars cant even keep up with a Gixxer. Now some V8's I can beat. Beat a few mustangs and camaro with just catback. But I will agree with you though, If you want to make a car truly fast a V8 is the best way to go. Wont die on the top end like a 4 banger. But some Mitsubishi Evolutions and Subaru WRX's can be fast as hell. Evo's can be deadly. Doesnt take much to hit 11's. AWD and a bigass turbo, lol.

SantaClawz

Ive been eye balling an evo for some time now, its never been driven off the lot, I do communcations work for this guy all the time, just been waiting for the right time to ask for a deal.

Go for it. Turboback exhaust and a good ecuflash and your already into high 12's! Thats pretty quick. Dunno how old you are but insurance will be pricey if your under 25 Ive heard. If I didnt have my balt, I would go with a WRX or maybe a 6.0 GTO. Not sure about a good V8 car. That balt is plenty quick for now though.

Odd, cool , weird, freaky, bizarre.
I'm not sure.
Why?
I once knew a guy who drove a hearse. Colored the dang thing purple too! But he was missing 1/2 his head. (for real)

i got a 2000 em1 honda civic SI. its got a JDM B16A out of a 92 Civic SIRII in it, stock comes with 170hp, 113tq. converted over to OBD2. DC 4-1 header, full catback into a DC dual canister systems muffler. sounds nice and deep. I got a holset HX35 turbo waiting for it to get put on. im trying to find a manifold so i can still keep my AC. then once i get that put on going with forged 9.1 to 1 pistons, and fordged rods, put some civic type R cams and valves into the head. all that will be done before the end ofnext year. for looks its dropped 2 and a half inches on skunk2 dropsprings.

for a almost stock car, its damn fast. pulled ahead of a 01 prelude till i shifted into 5 at 120... then he started passin me.. nothing like doing 155 in a econobox!
thats my daily i also got my 85 chevy monte carlo SS stripped out for dragracing, with a built 350 in it. well in the process of being built, tore apart in my garage. then got a 77 F-100 ford stepside that im restoring. just blew the motor in that though... got pissed because i couldnt move on ice and bent a valve on the head.
