Slip just posted this in teh Wendy's thread and it got me thinking.

Post your town's population and then list the fast food chains present.
Extra credit, list the number of non-chain fast food places too.

My town has a population of about 25,000.

Chain fast-food:
McDonalds (2)
Burger King
Dunkin Donuts (3)
Dominos
KenTacoHut

Chain Boxes:
Crapplebees
Niety-Nine
Friendly's (2)

Non-chain fast food:
Pizza & Grinders (5)
Chinese takeout (2)
Burrito place
Thai
Korean
Diners (2)
Ice Cream (2)
Cafe (3)

Non-chain sit-down:
Creative/Traditional American (2)
Chinese/Japanese
Thai

This makes me bummed. We don't have a good Italian place in town at all, and the chains really have put the smackdown on our couple nice local places.

Slip's town is one per 1600 about...

Now the town I am living in now has only a subway and a dairy queen, but the town right next to us has a McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, 2 Subways, a Chinese buffet, a mexican restaurant, a Steak place, Ponderosa, Hardees, Dominos, Pizza Hut, plus another pizza place, and I think thats it.

if your town has a municipal website, they should give population. Mine is lame and doesn't, although I CAN look up my neighbors' property taxes and home values, lol!
The restaurants, you just need to use your memory.

Pop 200,000

Restaurants: Buttloads. You could find any restaurant of any culture, including real chinese food.

However when it comes to fast food these are your options:

McDonalds
Wendys
Burger King
Five Guys (which was started here)
Taco Bell
KFC
Pizza Nut
Popeyes
Subway
Quiznos
Blimpe

See, around here, we don't get the cool fast food chains, like Jack-In-A-Box, Carl Jrs., Sonic etc.

i live in baltimore which has like 850000 people so im willing to bet that most of the good chains in the country you'll be able to atleast find one in my town, but the town i used to live in virginia had a mcdonalds, taco bell/kfc, burger king, blimpie and like 4-5 real restaurants...if u wanted a change of pace u'd have to drive atleast 15-20 minutes

I live in Brampton, population of around 450,000. lol haven't really spent too much time tallyin up what we have here. No Papa Johns (same goes for a few places that don't operate in canada...dunkin donuts), no white castle and no churches chicken. Only a few burger kings (last I checked 3) and Insane amount of pizza places though.

Technically were part of the greater toronto area, population of over 5 million, so if you count that in that you can pretty much eat anything you can think of.

KomfortablyKnumb

My town has around 1600 people. We have a bar that serves burgers n stuff and a little diner that serves food that I believe to be something humans should not eat. I can't even get mail service to my house. I tried to order a pizza to be delivered once and the guy laughed at me... It's great though, very private!!
