Go for any indica they grow small and most indicas are mostly pontent anyway an easy to grow you could also top them and keep them small and bushy:hippy:

none of the above ... get some of Mandala's easy-growing, potent strains ... great gear, low prices, too ... if this is your first grow, save your money, and grow bagseeds ... you will probably kill your first crop, and have real problems, for the first few grows ... :smokin:

You probably don't want to hear this but, if you haven't already,,,,,,,,,,,do yourself a favor and spend every possible minute reading stickies here and elsewhere BEFORE you get seeds started.
Think about this for a moment: I spent the last three full months growing a strain called PPP. Had I screwed that up in the later stages because I hadn't known to watch for mold, or didn't flush, or over fed, or hadn't been vigilant about watching for insects, etc, etc, etc.........I'd have spent two plus MONTHS for nothin.
Now, I had a pretty good handle on things before I started, did the grow "ghetto" as hell due to lack of money, and I still have an awesome yeild--mold free--in the paper bags right now.------All because of constant reading! Knowledge is power my friend, real power.
Good luck with your grow.

P.S. He may be too modest to admit it, but image reaper damn sure knows his shit too!
I don't suggest the autoflowering strains. You can't clone them, apparently.
If you want a small, bushy plant... go with an indica. They don't stretch too much, except they can get pretty wide. Really, though, don't expect it to ultimately be easy. There are harder strains to cultivate, but growing quality cannabis in general takes effort.
For my first grow, I'm going for Dr Atomic's Northern Lights. I'm not sure about the general "difficulty," but either way I'll be growing it. Like ProGroWannabe said, if you read as much as you can about growing, it won't be as hard. I've known a lot of people who have started grows without reading a thing, and their plant ends up dying, because they didn't even know about using quality soil and having balanced nutes! And not to mention that their grow-room setup sucked.
Go get The Cannabis Grow Bible. It's good, and you'll learn a lot.
Most people will suggest starting with bag seed, though. If you get lucky and find a seed in some really good smoke, take that opportunity to keep that seed and germinate it sometime. Plus, if you grow that bagseed out successfully, and it came from like an 1/8th for $50, just think... that's a fucking bargain! Because you can grow that perpetually, and keep taking clones from a mother plant.

great advice  ... after awhile, you notice how many people ask the same questions, over and over and over ... they should have just read the stickies, and do a bit of research ... it's all here, already ... personally, I read every page of every section, of the Cultivation Forum, before I ever posted ... now, if I could just remember some of it :D

Northern Lights is an excellent choice for beginners ... and, an excellent choice for veterans, too ... it IS that good, often overlooked by all the fancy-name strains ... Northern Lights stands on its own, and is also one of the most common strains to be used extensively for hybridizing ... one of the easiest strains to grow, very forgiving ... use nutes at half-strength, once a week, or 3rd waterings ... she'll tell you if she needs anything, not a heavy feeder, usually ... good stuff

I wanted to get some NL but Nirvana's is out of stock! For Joey weed i was gonna order his NL along with the C99 but i decided to just get the C99. I really didnt want to take a chance ordering more than one pack of seeds from one place. You never really know whats gonna happen and i rather not spend all my money and end up getting nothing for it! After my seeds arrive though i'll go ahead and order his NL! I just like to have first hand experience before i go all out!

I grew his NL99, Northern Lights x Cinderella 99 ... loved it ... this photo from the Hemp Depot 'Joey Weed NL99' catalog, is one of my clones, that my friend grew out ... he did outstanding ... that clone was his FIRST GROW attempt :wtf: ... he is an intellectual type, always READing and improving on things ... he came up with the idea of placing his pots on a 30-degree false floor, exposing the entire side of the growing plant to the lamp, turning it 1/4 turn, daily ... that NL99 in the photo is only about 32" tall, but delivered just over 7 ounces of dried bud ...
