Hi: I just found this fertilizer called 'Hawaiian Bud & Bloom' in a store. It is rated 5-50-17 with chelated micronutrients.
With a name like that who could resist? My plants are flowering and I was wondering if anyone else has heard of or tried this product? Tx for any info

Not sure how safe that fertilizer would be. Those numbers aren't that balanced, and the phosphorous is a little on the high side, with the nitrogen level being a little lower (but then again, you don't need as much nitrogen when blooming, but meh)
Other than that, no, I've never heard of/tried this product, but use at your own risk, and remember to follow the dilution and application instructions.

Thanks for the information. I am using it at 1/2 T instead of 1T per gallon that is recommended. We will see what happens. Cheers

that sounds interesting. Keep us updated i'd like to see how that turns out
I would say that the nutrients in that fertilizer are not at the best balance for cannabis. Although it is true that higher phosphorus than nitrogen is better for flowering, that balance doesn't look too good for cannabis, seeing as the levels are so high. I think this balance of nutes would cause nutrient lockout for your plants, which is obviously not good. This basically means that your plant will have trouble accessing other nutrients because of the excess of another. Although, I could be wrong about that. For vegging, you might want to try 10:10:10, and for flowering 10:20:10. It just has to be balanced. Of course, for flowering, higher levels of P than N and K are optimum. You do not want to have too much, though, even if it is balanced.

If you haven't yet applied this product to all of your plants, I would suggest a controlled application of two different fertizers. Perhaps using Jack's Classic Blossom Booster (10-30-20) on one plant and the Hawaiin on another plant.

I think I will get some of Jack's actually. I have 3 white widows and 3 juicy fruits to try it on. Cheers

I gave all the plants a drink of water with 1/4 t of Jacks per gallon. This will even them all out to start a test between the 2 fertilizers

Well the test started with 3 white widows & 3 juicy fruits. Using Peters all purpose, Jacks Classic, & Hawaiian Bud & Bloom. We will see.

MFQR: Thanks for the info. I have discovered that my ph is way out of balance. My water out of the tap is 7.0. When I add my ferts some of them go to 6.8 and some to 7.2. So obviously I have to do something about that. I will correct that on the next watering.
Should I flush the plants with several gallons of water with the correct solution?

It probably won't hurt to just water them with a round of PH corrected water, then go back to the corrected fertilizer/water solution solution next time you water.

PS. If you hit them only with water, take a PH test of the run-off water.

I think tomorrow some may need water and I am going to collect some to test it. My water here is ph 7 going in, without any ferts

One plant is showing some nitrogen burn. The second plant of another strain is not. However that fert is out of the mix. Peters all purpose I think is too high in nitrogen. I will flush it tomorrow and also see what the ph is on the runoff water.

Hawaiian Bud & Bloom seems to winning so far. Picture 1 is a Juicy Fruit with Hawaiian Bud and Bloom. 2 is a Juicy Fruit and White Widow. White Widow is on TigerBloom. 3. Is Juicy Fruit on HBB.
4. White Widow TigerBloom.
I started with Jacks Classic but discontinued that due to too much N. Peters also went by the wayside too much N. Hawaiian Bud and Bloom 5-50-17 has won this one. Tiger bloom is coming in a close second. In real life though it is nowhere near the HBB. These plants have also been fed an equal dose of Bat guano and cal-mag.
