i just watched this and even though its the dumbed down, its kind of confusing. it has great animation and the video makes you think. just watch it and tell me what you think about it.

IMHO.. There is only 4 dim's .... 3 spacial and 1 ethereal.. all others are but illusion that occurs when models fail due to scale or unknown rules applied..
"The skeptic will say, 'It may well be true that this system of equations is reasonable from a logical standpoint, but this does not prove that it corresponds to nature.' You are right, dear skeptic. Experience alone can decide on truth. " - Albert Einstein
For clarification.. and just to be confrontational...
Mays's Axiom's
1) There are no infinities... are but illusion that occurs when mathematical
constructs fail due to scale...
2) There are no paradox's ... Are but a mental construct in the absence
of all known rules....
3) All observed constants in nature are variable... but on such scales as
to be undetectable as varing from the limited scale of observation of
the observer...
4) Man knows far less than he knows he knows....
5) Physical Laws apply whether or not man has symbolically defined
it.....
a) Mathematical symbolism is not the event its describes...
b) All physical aspects will occur in the universe whether we recognize it or model it... or even if we cease to exist...
6) Vines will not grow out your butt if you swallow water melon seeds...

could you elaborate on your 4 dimension? i dont believe the video i just thought it was cool and confusing. but i would love to hear what you have to say on your theory.

I believe that there are more than 4, but I don't have any firm views on whether it be 7, 11 or how many there are (differing models have differing numbers).
And Quantummist, don't you mean temporal? Or do you not believe that time actually exists?

It sounds like once you get to the 4th it just starts repeating.

Haha, you learned about infinity in 2nd grade, didnt you? :D I think this is a pretty amazing concept. Try applying it to this...

String theory requires either 10 or 26 dimensions, for mathmatical reasons I don't begin to understand.

Im pretty sure that is the best video ive ever seen on the internet. I wish that simpsons intro still worked. There also is another really really cool simpsons Halloween episode where homer goes to the 3rd dimension.
here is part of it

Also a long time ago I watched a episode of nova (science tv show) where the subject was how the big bang happened. One theory was that is was from dimensions colliding is this the string theory or is it something else.
String theory requires either 10 or 26 dimensions, for mathmatical reasons I don't begin to understand.
String theory strongly suggests the existence of ten or eleven (in M-theory) spacetime dimensions, as opposed to the usual four (three spatial and one temporal) used in relativity theory; however the theory can describe universes with four effective (observable) spacetime dimensions by a variety of methods.

my brains about to fucking explode, but, im going to have to watch that again, and again, slowly grasping the concept of all of those ideas and finally coming to understandable conclusion in my mind as to what that all means....

well I have fucking dial up so I don't guess I'll be watching that video...I do however only believe there are 4 dimensions, but that's not a concrete belief. It could change at any moment, probably quicker than other beliefs I hold.
