Me and my bro were driving in his van today, when we passed a sign on the side of the road, saying 'Warning! Traffic cone ahead!'. Right behind the sign was indeed a traffic cone.
This got us thinking. Why was the traffic cone there? There were no road works around, no obstructions, no nothing - just the road. So, we came to the conclusion that the traffic cone must have been there to warn people about the sign; the sign that said 'Warning! Traffic cone ahead!'.
So, we wondered which came first - the traffic cone that was there to warn people about the sign, or the sign that was there to warn people about the traffic cone. It seemed like a Chicked Or Egg situation ('Which came first, the chicken or the egg?'). I think I've found the answer.
Nobody would have put a 'Warning! Traffic cone!' sign in the road without a traffic cone being there. Right? But, nobody would have put a traffic cone there without there being a sign to warn anybody about. So, I deduced that they must have been put there simultaneously. This may be a bit far-fetched, but humour me.
Consider the Big Bang theory. Loads and loads of nothingness, for millions of millions of years, and then BANG, something happens and the universe pops in to existence - we went from nothing to everything, in a way. This is the same for the Traffic Cone and the Sign - nothing in the road, and then BAM, everything in the road.
We need a name for the point in which the Traffic Cone and the Sign were put in the road, so lets call it Point 0. At Point 0, both the Traffic Cone and the Sign came in to existence - neither was first. The time after Point 0 progresses as normal.
But my question is this - If Point 0 is the beginning of our time-scale, then there must have been a catalyst. Something must have happened or somebody must have been around before Point 0 to help the Traffic Cone and the Sign in to existence, before time began. So what was it? And if it was a somebody, then where did they come from? Were they created, or have they been around for all 'time' (even though, theoretically, time began at Point 0)?
An interesting question, i'll have to smoke some more and get back to you.
