Has anyone had the chance to grow a feminized strain? Is it worth the extra money for them?

nope, don't fall for it ... 'feminized' seeds tend to pass a 'hermaphroditic' tendency into the resulting plants, and their generations ... just plant your seeds, and take your chances, is my advice ... select your best female, and take clones from her ... although nature supposedly makes male/female about 50/50, I went a long time with all females, then went thru a period of mostly males ... ya just never know ... sometimes, life is like a box of chocolates :D ,,, besides, if you are lucky enough to get a 'frosty' male, you can make your own seeds, not have to buy again ...

be aware, blueberry has a reputation of not being the easiest strain to grow ... I don't think it is all that difficult, but it does have 'likes and dislikes' ... some experienced blueberry growers here can be of help .... :smokin:

i have done a couple of "original blueberry" from dutch passion which where feminised.from what i learned if you keep the temp and humidity ok there aint a problem.they need training as they get huge if you dont flower them quite soon mine tripled in size during flower.i downed the humidity to 40% during flower and the temp was 80 ish.i grew it alongside chronic and the blueberry was like rocket fuel compared to it.ppm was at 1800-2200 near the end of flowering and was no nute burn.between 10-12 weeks flowering.make sure it is cured properly and the taste is awesome.

I would expect that if you buy feminized seeds from a good, reputable seed bank, you would not be at much of a risk for hermaphrodite plants. The only thing you know about these seeds is that it is POSSIBLE to make the plant go hermie. I would imagine that this is the case with most strains of cannabis already. Sometimes, to make feminized seeds, they use gibberelic acid on the plants. Sometimes, they wait until the plant is way past the normal flowering stage, and male flowers form. If either of these are the case, there's virtually no chance the progeny will have a greater risk of being hermaphrodites. Often, they sell feminized hybrids, in which case only one parent has to exhibit hermie traits. Sure, there'll sometimes be shady seed sellers who will have a female plant go hermie on them because of a hot grow room or something, then turn around and sell the seeds as "feminized" but among well-known seed banks, I think this is the exception, not the rule.
Still, from an economics standpoint, the feminized seeds are usually more than twice the cost of the regular ones. If you're growing indoors, you should have enough light to be able to plant twice as many seeds as you need, flower them, then ditch the males and grow the females. The only reason you might need feminized seeds is for a really small, occasional grow of one or two plants.
