Don't do it.
Ceramic, glass, stone, stainless steel= all non-reactive and SAFE.

Stay away from copper. Use brass instead. Steel is good too, but gets hot QUICK!

Thanks, I got a nice brass pipe now. Glass is too easy to break the way I use my pipes lol.

Is it ok to use the solid aluminum bowls that usually come on cheap ceramic bongs?
I know aluminum foil is bad, but how about a piece of solid aluminum ?

yeah they normally sell copper or steel screens at most head shops...but thats a screen not a bowl...and i can tell the difference in taste between steel and copper screens and id much rather have steel so idk if id really wnna smoke a copper pipe...maybe if u had some dankass weed in there id take a hit or two just because the herb was that good but def not on a reg basis

I've never seen a copper screen, only steel and brass ones.
Please don't use copper or aluminum for pipes people.

Yeah they are both soft, colored metals but brass is yellower and has a bit more resistance to tarnish- it's an alloy. Copper is a pure elemental substance, as is aluminum; both are quite prone to oxidation.

oh well there u go, so i was mistaken all along i coulda sworn those screens my buddy had were copper...but i venture to say they were brass...doubt a headshop would sell u screens that arent safe for u to smoke with

you could end up inhaling copper oxide or something, which will fuck you up something awful. just get a brass piece and a glass piece. use the brass when your on the go and the glass at home.

I always thought the screens they sold were copper too. Guess not.
But as for aluminum, I am almost certain that some cheaper metal pipes have aluminum parts. I think one of the pipes I had had an aluminum bowl cap.
