You'll have to stop quoting that 33% failure rate soon, you know that right? They DID have a 33% failure rate, any new ones in production have the better heat sink in place and therefore do no have the minor issue the old ones have. Therefore with each new 360 produced and each old one that's repaired, the failure rate % goes down. It's probably not even 33% anymore.

Haha, that's bullshit. Even on paper, the PS3 is only slightly more powerful. Anything the PS3 can do, the 360 can do too. Just at slightly worse graphics. I've yet to see a PS3 game put the 360 to shame. Better shape up Sony.

Power doesn't factor in to game quality...look at lair. But on that same token, Rockstar devs are saying that GTAIV is pushing both systems to their max and they've also stated that both versions will be identical. It's something developers say to make their game seem
like it's "pushing the envelop" moreso than other games. Doesn't mean it's true. PS2 being the second weakest console of last gen (Dreamcast, PS2, GCN, Xbox) took 4 years at least until it's true potential was reached with marvelous looking titles like God of War II, Kingdom Hearts II, Final Fantasy XII, Resident Evil 4. There is tricks developers learn or stumble upon that allow them to continually push more out of a system. I've said before and I'll say it again. PS3 and 360 will always be about the same level, 360 can do a few minor things PS3 can't and PS3 can do a few things 360 can't in the end the games will be about the same on both, with very minor differences. The PS3 has blu ray discs which allow it to hold more data, but it's drawback is a low disc reading speed that will prevent it from really utilizing that storage for any huge impact. All it will allow for is games that would be multi disc on 360 can be one disc on the PS3 and I don't know about you but I never really cared when my games were multiple discs. Hell if anything it somehow added a sense of epicness to have a game be so vast it needed multiple discs.

You keep acting like anyone that doesn't like PS3 must be jealous but frankly I see nothing to be jealous of. I see two consoles that are basically of the same power level but mine being the cheaper in price of the two. I see my console being out first so has a greater lineup of games already out and planned to be out. PS3 is still struggling to get some good big name titles to fill it's library. They will come in time though Sony makes their own good games and they have some help like Square. I see the 360 has the best online service over the proposed "Home" service Sony is discussing. Blu Ray to me was only really useful for those that wish to have Blu Ray movies I'm still working on my DVD collection and really annoyed by all the new formats right now anyway I could stay with DVD for another decade if it was up to me. I don't even care about HDDVD. The tilt function in the PS3 controllers I'm certainly not jealous of, I consider it simply a half assed attempt to combat the Nintendo Wii and frankly if I want that type of gameplay I will buy a Wii which is quite superior to the tech thats in the sixaxis and the games are completely based around it.

if you want more space, just spend 100 or so on a 120 GIG HDD and put it in yourself (won't void the warranty, and even a moron can do it, sony designed the ps3 so you can put in your own bigger HDD with ease and not void your warranty)

also if you have alot of PS2 games i'd really suggest doing what you can to get it ASAP, the new ps3's will have an EE chip and it's not fully backwards compatible. (i think it's like 80%?)

Uh, no. Since they're performing equally, PS3 hasn't shown me anything better than the 360. Xbox 360 is still the all around better system to buy. I'm pretty sure the majority of PS3 purchases were either from Sony fanboys, or Microsoft fanboys who wanted to sell them on ebay to Sony fanboys for a ridiculous amount of cash. :stoned:

With console titles you can sit back on your comfy sofa with your big screen TV and surround sound system and immerse yourself into that gaming world. Hell a controller especially later models that have rumble/force feedback, triggers and now the wii remote far better act out what you are doing and far better immerse you than sitting up in a computer chair pounding on a keyboard and mouse. they can be bigger, better graphics and a lot more gameplay... they're not limited to what a console can handle or how much they can fit on a disc, my pc alone could handle far more than any console out there right now.

and to me they are more immersive, i don't have a HDTV, so the highest quality screen is my computer screen, it's also where my surround sound is hooked up to.

MMO's are usually quite big...but then FFXI is on consoles and it's just as big as any other MMO. I think the argument isn't very sound, especially when consoles now have HDDs and Flash Memory.

...of course. Though for immersion I look to the atmosphere of the game, the portrayal of the setting and a good storyline with good scripting/voice acting being the keys to immersion. Eternal Darkness for instance is the prime example. The game isn't very big, and a path of it can be beat in 12 hours or so but it's probably one of the more immersing games in existence.

we probably just have diffrent views on immersion, since i really only play fps's my version is bombs going off everywhere, planes and choppers overhead, soldiers at either side, tanks shaking the ground, bullets flying everywhere, bodies flying.. etc..

just picture what some of the bloodiest battles of WWII would have looked like through the eyes of a soldier.. and tha'ts pretty much it.

it'd be pretty hard to make that onto console, atleast at the level i'm talking about... as it'd eat up the CPU ridiculously quick...

Lol, I got a subwoofer and acouple speakers, my lazy boy recliner, 21 inch lcd screen, and a gaming pad, so I'm perfectly fine without consoles... and graphics mean nothing to me, I'm into classics a matter of fact, diablo 2, tribes 2, and as for as shooters go, counter strike source looks just as good as a ps3 shooter, and there is no console game as realistic as red orchestra when it comes to war gaming, look into it if you don't beleive me. :)

Nice youtube link there, very informative. Proves my point that the PS3 will never really surpass 360 with it's games. The PS3 has some impressive looking stats but it's design gimps those nice little stats, bottlenecks them and prevents PS3 from being the powerhouse Sony claims it to be. Sony said originally they were going to support the PS3 for 10 years...I highly doubt that unless Microsoft plans to do the same and considering Microsoft only waited 4 years before replacing the original Xbox, I doubt that will happen.
