View Full Version : An idea...

I have been thinking of this for quite some time, and I'm not sure if it has any merit. This is because it could cause more harm to the pro-pot movement than it would help. However, it could serve to prove a point and maybe spread awareness by forcing people to become aware of the issues surrounding this plant.

Here is my idea in a nutshell:

I have a friend with a private pilot's license. I have another friend with thousands and thousands of seeds. My idea was to hop in his plane, fly over any public areas where the pot could grow, and start dumping seeds. Next thing you know, pots plants growing everywhere. All over cities, parks, rural areas, urban areas, almost anywhere it can take root. Now, if lots of people did this in each state, it would be absolutely impossible for the DEA or anyone else to completely clean it up, or even make any arrests.

Is this a bad idea or a good idea? It would certainly piss off law enforcement, and that can be a good or bad thing.

Anyway, this isn't really a practical idea of mine, rather, it is more of a fantasy. I think it'd be fun to do and see the reaction from the government, but of course, the reaction could be very negative and hurt what is starting to become a successful pro-marijuana (at least, pro-medical marijuana) environment for some of us.

Any thoughts?

You ever hear of Johnny appleseed. He didn't have a airplane but he is responsible for a lot of wild apple trees. Just wonder how many innocent people would be busted for a pot plant in their back yard?

We use to do that in the old days.Just stick them in the dirt on old dirt roads and let them grow. Now seeds are so damn expensive it would cost a fortune.Hemp grows all over beside the freeways in Arkansas and Oklahoma.

They couldn't bust people for it if they knew that someone had spread seeds all over the county. That would be ridiculous.

Wait, we're talking about the DEA... they are generally ridiculous as regards pot anyway.

Seeds were dumped in planters, by the police station, in parks, vacant lots...wherever! To do the airplane thing has been discussed since I was a young hippie! :hippy: Reality check! Scattering by hand happened, the airplane didn't.

And I constantly hear, "My plant went hermie and my grow is full of seeds!" Hermie-ism is a SURVIVAL trait in the wild! Plant those "bastard" seeds! If even one hermied individual can survive, it will start a colony with a little luck! OK, the "wildwood weed" would have seeds and be hermie prone- run it through a sifter and it still smokes fine!

Now's the time to find a few secluded spots that have enough water, good soil, etc., so come this spring, you can play "Johnny Potseed" in your area. If you are lucky, you can come back for a late fall "pick-nic" and harvest. If they all died, well, have a nice picnic!- Granny:hippy:

Well, my intention was not to come back and harvest the plants. That would sort of defeat the purpose. I was thinking that if there were that many plants growing randomly all over the place, that it would make the news and raise awareness. I would not want to harvest it because then that would work in the favor of those against pot.

The idea is kicked around on every MJ message board on the net. It sounds great, and people have been hand dropping them for years. The problem is that when random joe citizen sees it, will he cut it down? the other problem i see is the cold. i tried to freeze some seeds once and couldnt get any of them to germ after. I dont know if it was just a bad batch, or freezing them kills them. if it does, most of the U.S. freezes at least once a year. bad for wild MJ growth.

Yeah, you'd be Johnny Cannabis-seed. :)

Just be sure to do it over a national park or something... I don't want one of them suckers sprouting up in my little old lady neighbor's backyard and her getting busted so I have to go visit an innocent woman in prison. You know?

But yeah... if you can keep it outta the innocent bystanders' backyards, by all means, that would be fantastic and would really frost law enforcement.

I don't think it would help matters, necessarily, but it would be pretty amazing.

I still wanna do it. :) Anyone got a 55 gallon drum full of seeds?

I got tons of seeds and was thinking of doing the same thing but people would either destroy the plants or dig them and go raise them at home. But it would be a glorious day if weed were growing everywhere.

DO IT!!

I've been doing my part and preaching to my buds to do the same.. In fact, the government just killed most of my wild growers with one of their deforestation projects (I like to hide them in the woods so they wont be found right away and have the chance to keep reproducing).. DO IT DO IT DO IT.. I just found a small facebook group devoted to doing this as well.. it's a plant.. since you can't have the seed, get it out of your hands and out of your possession as soon as possible.. if it lands in the dirt and grows, blame God.. damn bastard.. why the hell would he put plants on this earth in the first place..

Believe it or not I'm having a really hard time finding any pot with seeds in it. Damn CA and their high quality pot.

I did throw quite a few out of a window on my way into the mountains the other day. :D

Seeds aren't illegal

Say that in kansas, youll be busted in a heartbeat. Anything remotely relating is illegal. Stems, seeds... you can have absolutely no pot, no paraphanelia, and not be high, but if you have a piece of stem or seed they find youre busted. :)

On a lighter note.. HELL YEAH. :) I think Ill take a walk in my local park this 4/20 and spread a lil cheer. I mean, what can they do? And if someone comes along and harvests, sweet. :) I might even devote a whole plant just for that reason.. I need seeds anyway. :)

While the idea sounds great at first. Their would probably be a lot of innocent people in jail because of this. So, in a way it's waging war with total disregard for the collateral damage. Sort of like the war on drugs. I for for one would be pretty upset if a LEO showed up at my front door with an arrest warrant & I was innocent. We all get pretty riled up when we hear about innocent people going to jail. The idea of planting them where underaged people could get at the plants is also pretty harsh. Lot more kids in Juvie. I pray that you can get your seeds in the ground. But, in such a refined way that no one gets hurt. Most DEA, Customs, Coast Guard, etc. have fenced in properties that they function out of. Kids won't go there. Maybe some adversaries would find plants on their own turf & turn on, tune in. Just because someone threw some seeds over a fence. Just watch out for guards & security cameras. LOL! By the way if any DEA types read this. I'm just kidding. I'd never do such a thing and I'm not really advocating it either. (disclaimer). It's just wild, BS talk. Anyway, how do you get seeds or plants into the hands of people who are of legal age & want to join in this activity? That's conspiracy & an Illegal substance combined. Sounds like a serious matter. Please, don't do it. I like to think that cannabis users are actually like the early Christians, peacefully spreading the gospel. A lot of people have been martyred. But, Christianity finally prevailed & so can peaceful, cannabis users. We really need to work through education & petitions or referendums. I'm ready for some backlash. But, I'm just not going to break the law. Why behave like the people who breakdown the doors of decent people who consume a pretty benign & medically useful plant? Prohibition doesn't work. It makes criminals out people who just want to have some relatively harmless relaxation. Far safer than alcohol. Also, their really are people who need medical marijuana & who are they hurting? Violence begets violence, right? Let's fight the good fight with peace. The last thing we need to do is live up to the stereotype of radical lawbreakers. This scares off potential voters. I grew up during the summer of love. A lot of voters got scared because we were impatient & wanted to change thing so fast. Voters want a slower pace of well thought-out change. I'm against ripping off the security blanket. I am for re-assuring voters that we're not going to do more harm than good. The facts are on our side. We will win. I thank you all for your indulgence. This reply got really long winded & sometimes preachy. At times, it's even contradictory. Just like the complexity of the subject matter. Peace
