Is there anyway to take the audio from a video and just simply make that into a wma or mp3 track?

yes im sure there are a million ways but i suggest just using a program which directly records the output from ur sound card (if u have a sound package from creative i think their recording program does)

yes all you have to do is put the video into windows movie maker(which comes standard with xp). when u put the video into it there will be two bars at the botom. it automatically divides the video part and sound parts. you can delete the video part and save the sound as mp3. i have used this method a couple of times.

lots of ways.... hell you could do it easily as hell with adobe photopreimier....

you can also get a video converter that's usually used to convert videos between diffrent formats (.avi, .mov, .mpeg, etc) and convert the video file to mp3.... or .wav...

btw i don't know of any free program that is unlimited...

this is what I would have done in college if my teacher asked me to do it.

i assume it is from a video cassette. record the video's audio via VCR/stereo mix and record it to a cassette tape. bring it into the studio and record the tape to the computer. save as mp3. done.

god i loved doing bumpers for radio!!! i should go back to the station and get the DJ gig again. lol

Does the size go down also?

yea the size goes down alot because most of the size is the pictures from the video. i just checked it right now, what i did was take a music video i downloaded and turned it into audio. it used to be 76 mb and now its 2mb. big difference.

and here is a free link on download.com that has windows movie maker.

Windows Movie Maker - Reviews and free downloads at Download.com (http://www.download.com/Windows-Movie-Maker/3000-2194_4-10187903.html)

Camp, do you use firefox?

There are some plugins for firefox that will let you download flash videos (saved as .flv). I personally use Download Helper and am very happy with it, although another one is Video Downloader.

Once you have the .flv file, you can extract the audio to .mp3 with FLV Extract.

It's as easy as that.

Although the problem has been solved, you could have also used the standard sound recorder (start>programs>accessories>entertainment) if you have an on-board mic (most computers do), but the quality would suffer.

1. Get cool edit pro

2. Go to volume control, options, properties, recording, check waveout mix.

3. Play the video you want the audio of

4. Hit record on cool edit

save your file.

Instead of using a mic and recording through your speakers you should open the volume control and go to 'Options' > 'Properties' .. then tick the 'Recording' box ... look in the lower white pane and make sure one of the following are checked: What-U-Hear, or Stereo Mix (a very few might need to use wav in, or mono in) ... then select 'OK' and the recording control panel will appear. You can only have one option selected in the recording control panel, unless you have multiple soundcards, so select 'What-U-Hear', 'Stereo Mix', etc. Now, when you record any sound from your PC it will be the best quality your soundcard provides for that file. This is also great for playing music in a voice chat (while holding the 'talk' button down or locking it.)

Don't forget to set your recording control back to 'microphone' if you want to talk.

Using TMPGE...the basic one. TMPGEnc Net (http://www.tmpgenc.net/) on the main screen you have three choices. video in audio in and output. dont select a video file in, only select and audio in file(the video file you want to rip the audio file from.) then select an output location. it should depending on your settings, create an ac3 file which is easily converted to mp3 with any number of freeware appz outthere...good luck to ya!;)
