so, i'm a HUGE fan of space/psych/stoner/doom/metal/desert/prog rock.(cause nice girls rok hard) anything heavy will do. I occasionally read Decibel magazine. I'm uber psyched cause I just picked up the September issue titled "The Stoner Rock Special", covering stoner rock greats like Queens of the Stone Age, Acid King, Orange Goblin, Witchcraft, Weedeater and Bloodhorse. All of which I adore. And to top it all off, the mag is sprinkled cover to cover with pot leaves and not-so-subtle references to bong hits and sticky buds. Rock on!

Any Kyuss in that? They are the kings of stoner rock in my opinion:D
no, but of course there are references to the greatest. you'll find kyuss-worthy bands in this issue. go buy it, seriously. full article on Clutch too, which i believe is one of the kings of stoner rock

I wanna put together a sludge band when I get out of school this year, something more along the lines of a cross Pelican and Kyuss, for those familliar with both bands... I love slamming out chords in really dropped tunings, recently I have been tuning at least a half step lower, then dropping the low string down to b... it sounds heavy as fuck yet harmonizes really well a the same time, i havent written any full songs in this tuning yet but i have a lot of riffs that could easily bee expanded upon.
I'll have to look into picking up a copy of that...
P.S. Anyone else find the new queens album a bit dissapointing? I just cant seem to get into it as much as the older stuff.... however I'm totally looking forward to the new High On Fire album coming out.

ghosty i love you
QOTSA has been all over the place recently, nobody can ever seem to stick around for long enough. and good luck blending kyuss and pelican, i'm wondering which style of vocals you'll be using.... kyuss is pretty downtuned already, i imagine youll be dropping some uber heavy numbers. pelican's city of echoes is out now but i havent been too inspired to purchase it.
high on fire comes out sept 18th! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, also doing a norht american tour sept-oct.
i'm looking forward to the baroness red album
