M4A format? what plays this

I just got a nice disc but it's all in m4a format and i cant play it on Itunes or Windows MP.

does anyone know a program that will convert these files to Mp3?

M4A files are higher quality and usually smaller than mp3 files, however unlike mp3, no licenses are required to play it..
