i listen to a lot of experimental rap and drum and bass music. it really makes your mind focus on every sound in the song.

I don't know how I got into liking pink floyd. No one I hung out with at the time really liked them that much. I just listened to the radio alot and all of a sudden I knew every word and I would even sound out the guitar solo as the song played. He's on my top 5 guitarists list that I like.

Psychedelic techno, especially Shpongle, Infected Mushroom and Juno Reactor. Any techno with a good bass beat will do though. I love the intro to Nothing Lasts... when the birds start singing, sometimes I'll catch myself looking around to see where they are. I prefer techno because everything is so precise and perfectly timed, it's a real treat. When I listen to live albums, ones that haven't been "overproduced", the little imperfections tend to agitate me, for lack of a better word.

Linkin Park sounds good to me. Akira the Don is someone you might not have heard of, but probably should have. Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros have some great stuff, although I can't say I've listened to them stoned. I'd also like to listen to some Amon Tobin when I'm high in the future.

And if there is any song that I can't understand the lyrics to, I'll get high and listen to it. For some reason all the syllables become extremely precise and I can understand every word.

Bone thugs is pretty sweet, but since I'm into video game music...mostly Final Fantasy and such I like to listen to "The Black Mages". It's a band formed by Nobuo Uematsu who is the composer for the Final Fantasy games. He is the organ player of the band and he has 1 guitarist, 2 bass guitarists, and a keyboardist. They are all employees of Square-Enix or former employees. Uematsu only contracts to Square now but he formed his own company called Smile Please Co, LTD which is the production company for his music. He is also contracted to Mistwalker studios which was founded by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series.
