Haha, yeah listen to some underground hiphop and you'll turn your back on the mainstream, the way it turned it's back on the elements of hiphop. Much better artists anyways. :)

I scored an advance copy of Sage Francis's new album, "A Healthy Distrust", the other day at work.

It's off the hook! I liked "Personal Journals", but this one is fucking amazing! Look for it on Feb 8!

listnen to Jedi Mind Tricks. Trust me when you just smoked a blunt to the head listening to this group is perfect. If you like Pink Floyd you'll like this rap duo. The beats are just a trip and Vinnie Paz(the rapper) is insane.

Yup, beat me to it. Things that are not hiphop, but hip-pop are money, hoes, violence, material things. Hiphop is more of a lifestyle than anything else, but it is not what you see on MTV. :)

for me personally, Wutang clan is the shit... period.. if ya want get into some shit, pick up wutang forever double cd.. that is a fuckin classic..

some others i listen to...
outkast-atliens (best album from outkast)
method man-tical and judgement day (great albums wit meths witty wordplay and rza beats... how could u go wrong?)
rza aka bobby digital- any of the digital albums are ridiculous
ghostface- one of the best mcs, anywhere
raekwon-only built for cuban linx (a five mic album, classic)
any beastie boys album, cypress hill there are tons of great stoner music, its really up to the listener... but definately Wutang, rip ol dirty...

I really like this post!! Except for the horrorcore... Necro is alright. But Twizted and ICP are just straight up losers. Wearing face paint and talking about stabbing people with umbrellas and chainsaws.. not my cup of tea.

To whoever mentioned Outkast... they fuckin rule. I'm not a fan of their newer shit, but damn, I like them.

To the person who mentioned Jedi Mind Tricks... Gotta lovem. Such a great group, but you can get tired of them easily. I still likem.

But who ever mentioned Three Six Mafia... MARRY ME :) ! There is nothing better than Memphis rap when high. I have over 35 albums of Memphis rap. All the Project Pat albums, and over 30 Three Six Mafia albums, and a few others here and there by Frayser Boy, Lil Wyte, an album by Koopsta Knicca and La Chat. But I want Lord Infamous to come back.

I used to be a fan of underground hip hop, but it just got boring. The lyrics were good, but the beats were lacking.

Makin Easy Money, Pimpin Hoes Is Serious.

word to jedi mind...

older wu tang (36 chambers, pretty much all of the first generation solo albums: cuban linx, liquid swords, ironman, tical, 36 chambers: the dirty version etc.)

oh and ghostface's new album pretty toney

bone thugs "weed song" is enjoyable...

trick daddy and cee-lo - dro in the wind.

underground is where its at, but im getting pretty sick of the "nerd rap"
