So I'm assuming all here know of Starcraft Blizzard game's legendary RTS, and everybody knows World of Warcraft the insanely well known MMO by the same Game studio.
Well I'm sure this is already in the works by Blizzard, but how would it be if they relaesed a World of Starcraft.
I think it could be epic like no other game before. Entire factions and aliiences consisting of possibly hundreds of people playing online could engage in wild battles with veteran players taking control of things like the Terran Battlecruiser or the Protoss Carrier and commanding entire battalions of actual people. Of course this provides the possibility of insibordination and outright mutiny, but that could be one of the best aspects of the game.
If anybody has any word of this actually being released for real in the future please tell, and I'd like to hear the thoughts of all of you on this, especially fans of Starcraft.
Could it work?
Do we have the right level of technology required yet?
Would you play?
I look foreward to your ideas.

Won't happen. There would be too much competition with WoW and blizzard wouldn't spend money releasing another mmo at the moment, that's why diablo 3 isn't in the works.

I'd rather see World of Diablo than World of StarCraft.
Diablo has a great atmosphere. I'd settle for D3.
I totaly agree with that.
I currently love WoW but D2 is such a brutal classic RPG.

I don't think we're going to see Diablo 3 for a while because it would compete too much with WoW and Starcraft 2 right now.

I agree that anything like this wont be out for a long while since Blizzard wouldn't want to mess with their cash cow WoW, but think of the gameplay possibilities.
You could play as a ghost and hook up with a bunch of other ghosts for a demolition mission deep behind enemy lines. It's up to you to make sure that some key installation of the enemies is taken out so an important assault doesn't meet overwhelming opposition. Mabey as a zealot you and a regiment of other zealots have to hold an outpost against a zerg infestation untill reinforcements can arrive.
Sorry to be so unaturally adamant about this but I guess I'm just buzzed about the idea, even if it might not happen for a very long time.

Diablo 3 isn't in the works because Blizzard North is no more.
Blizzard announced Starcraft 2 months ago. Go to their website.

couldnt work, and unless WOW completly fails which will be quite some time before it does the blizzard probably will be satisfied with just one mmorpg and starcraft 2 is coming out in 2008

WoW isn't going anywhere considering the new expansion is launching in 2008 and many fans are waiting patiently..
Funny, I've never had interest in starcraft games but allways loved the warcraft games, I think it's because I'm not into the future stuff, I like brutal/medival/historical kinda stuff, that's why I liked D2 so much. :stoned:

I would love diablo 3... i'd probably even revert back to being the computer gaming nerd i was back when diablo 2 had a firm grip on my soul... that game rocked but in a sense it was evil, i spent so much time playin that game it was addictive as hell...

Glad to see I piqued someones interest, Sup One-Q.
Also I know about Starcraft 2, Hell watching the videos is probably what got me thinking about it. I'm sure once I get my hands on the new Starcraft I'll forget about this WoS thing. . . for awhile.

I play WoW but a new expansion can fuck off for all I care, I didn't even like this one and levelling up again and AGAIN makes me want to kill myself. Lucky I have a fantastic community online and I'm good enough at the game to still have alot of fun. WoW won't be as big as it is in 3 years.

Starcraft 2 will be sick. WoW is overrated, I recommend Neverwinter Nights as an alternative MMORPG. Starcraft is a classic of course, still popular around the world. And whenever D3 happens it will destroy WoW so Blizzard is going to have to wait til Guild Wars or Everquest start outselling WoW before they'll make it. Blizzard is a great company though, lots of innovation, I'm hoping they drop a new line of games soon.

they got rid of blizzard north because they were developing the next diablo game and when it came time to put the final touches on it. the head guys at blizzard were not happy and decided to scrap the whole game because it didnt meet their standards. thats why blizzard north is no more because they fucked up and the main blizzard team is gonna re-work diablo 3 at some point just not now cause they are already working on a bunch of projects. blizzard does this kind of stuff alot. the same thing happened with starcraft ghost.
