So I'm thinking of picking up a BC Vaporizer. (http://www.rollies.com/SingleItemView/Pipes2.asp?SerialNum=BCV001) I was looking at the Vapir (http://www.air-2.com/c2/category_all.php#one) but $130 is expensive; is it really worth the extra cash? I was wondering if anyone here owns a vaporizer and if so, if there's any particular techniques you've found. I did do a search BTW, not too much info on them :)

I've got 2 vaporizers, the hands free vapordoc and the vaporgenie, I almost always use the vaporgenie.

Interesting... I considered the Vaporgenie. I'd like it to be small and preferably less than 100. But it seems like a pain in the ass. ;) Do you like it? Also, do you use any particular techniques, and do you grind up the bud?

It really isn't a pain, I kind of enjoy the whole process. I've gone from smoking about a pack of cigs a day to only vaporizing weed and my body feels much cleaner and healthier. The technique I found that works the best is to put the flame deep in the hole and breath in a bit fast, if you breath too slow you'll get smoke. And yes I grind my bud up, I bought a nice grinder off ebay for only $20

yea if you buy a grinder get a lucite one with metal pins..the cheap 10 dollar wooden or plastics ones break with a months constant use....

the vaporgenie is DEFINITELY worth your money.

I can't decide between the BC Vape and that. The BC Vape is only a little more expensive.

I own a BC vaporizer, no complaints at all, except that it will take a good 5 minutes before it heats up enough to start vaping the THC. Works pretty well. :)

Cool :) How does it compare to smoking out of a bowl or a J?

Get the vapir. It is a convection vaporizer meaning that the heat goes through all areas of the weed. The BC Vaporizer is a conduction vaporizer. Those vaps only heat most of the outside of the weed instead of going through the middle like convections do. Id say go for the vapir. I have a convection vaporizer called aromazap. It takes a while to heat up, but it gets me really high.

Yeah, the Vapir looks nice.. the only thing I'm hesitant about is after seeing this study http://www.growkind.com/vaporizer-study.html it seems like #1 Vapes aren't as efficient and #2 there's apparently only marginal difference in the effectiveness of the hot plate one versus the hot air one.

Well first off, the hit feels like you are breathing in warm, bud flavored air instead of smoke. It doesn't feel heavy at all, if you smoke a lot then it may feel like you aren't getting anything, because you may associate the heavy feeling of the smoke with getting high, but the vapor high will creep up and in most cases it is a very much stronger high than smoking. It is felt mostly in the head and has a very clean and clear feeling to it. Good thinking high. :)

The Vaporgenie is half the cost of those guys, IS a pipe, and only needs a lighter. It's also a convection vaporizer, as actual flame is applied through a ceramic filter, and the hot air surrounds and penetrates the bud. I've had mine for a while now, and it works like a fucking charm.

Also, it's small, so it's stealthy.

Seriously, think about it. www.vaporgenie.com
(I do like the vaporbrothers, vapordoc, or aromazap, though.)
