Naw, he performed too early. I arrived at 12:45, saw some Regina Specktor for a bit before going to Matisyahu.
Wu-tang rocked, damn they ruled.
The thing that sucked about the virginfest is you had to make some hard choices, like choosing to see 311 or the Pumpkins. I had to go with the pumpkins. Worst scheduling ever.
The Police were really good, it was unfortunate I couldn't see their whole set, as Modest Mouse was performing at the same time.
All and all, it was pretty cool, damn hot, but the cops were chill, letting people to smoke pot, have a good time, only there to actually keep people safe from dehydrating and stuff.

How were the pumpkins? Jimmy Chamberlin (previous/current? drummer) grew up in my neighborhood. Funny (true) fact: days following Halloween our family (& most of our neighbors) would discover our pumpkins smashed outside our houses (years past). I went to high-school with Chamberlin's neice. Anyways

The pumpkins were a blast. They played a bunch of their classics, Today, Tonight Tonight, Zero, 1979, To Shelia etc. I didn't like one of the new songs from their new album, but other than that, it was frickin' awesome. I'm glad I got a chance to see the Pumpkins in my lifetime.
But man that's cool you grew up with Jimmy Chamberlain. It was just him and Billy Corgan from the original lineup. James Ithaca wasn't playing on the guitar for some reason.

Interesting, how was Sting's son?
he sang exactly like sting which was kind of annoying. i figured they used to be a police coverband until he introduced himself as stings son. i wasnt really impressed with the music at all. he was the bassist/vocalist for a band called planefiction

I miss the real HFStivals :( The only one I made it to was the one with Chevelle, The Roots, and Godsmack, but fuck.. I think they still have em, but they just arent the same. I cant believe they turned 99.1 into a god damn mexican station

HFStivals sucked compared to V-Fest- it was an okay line-up schedule- all of the bands were great, but I think V-Fest was much better organized. They're doing it again next year, and I'll be DAMN sure I get tickets again.
I was so happy, I forgot the Yeah yeah yeahs were there, and we made it up just in time- Karen O was NUTS. I love her! They were right after Panic! (The only band we stayed on the infield for... No one really wanted to see them in our group, lol.)
thc- It's cool, trust me, there was PLENTY of weed at the 311 portion, so I got really stoned... I had a plastic baggie with a j in it of some GOOD stuff, and I dropped it during Velvet Revolver when some guy kicked my head crowdsurfing, and this 16 year old bitch picked it up and ran with it- the crowd howled and called at her, but she got away.
I was hoping she'd get caught by a cop or something, but they were REALLY lax about pot, which was good. I saw a glimpse of the Pumpkins, but Matisyahu came on in the middle of 311 with them, and it fucking ROCKED.
EDIT: I think HFStival might be dropping out- attendance has been down the past few years, and they didn't even have a festival this year... I think 99.1 is rock on weekends and after 5? I dunno, my car radio is broked.
