Hey everyone, if you are in North Texas I just want to give you a heads up, there is a NORML benefit concert at UR MOMS. It will be Reggae. The lineup scheduled is Jah Roots, Subrosa Union, Nine Dollar Word, and Kulcha Far I. UR MOMs is located on U.S. 380 in Denton. Just take I-35 to 380 and go EAST until you see Fulton Street and take a LEFT at SUNSET. There will be a shopping center with a Kroger Grocery Store, El Matador Mexican Restaurant (DELICIOUS food BTW, great choice for dinner that night!), and a Movie Tavern theatre off to the left. UR MOMS is next to the theatre. Coming from McKinney, take U.S. 380 WEST and take a RIGHT at SUNSET. If you miss FRY STREET :sadcrying this is the new go-to venue in Denton. Cover will be $5 21+, $7 18-20, FREE for NORML members, so the gas will probably be the most expensive thing!

Do you know a showtime or phone number for this place?

Thanks,
Onward!

Oh, yeah... oops. Yeah, and their last benefit they started getting the tables set up at 8, the music didn't really get going until 9 even though 8 was listed. So, I guess I'll see you there? (Except I don't know you LOL)

This would probably be a LOT of fun. But I'm afraid that we would stand out like a sore thumb. I can hear it now...."Hey grampa, if the music is too loud, you're too old".

My buddy and I drove by the club today. It's in a former video store. Really easy to find.

I bet this would be a great night, but not sure if I'd feel a bit out of place....it sucks growing older....but it's better than the alternative, I guess.

Maybe us slightly older than college age folks should just meet up at your house bssman. We can listen to our records and 8-tracks and complain about who has the most aches and pains.

Have a great time. :D

LOL sounds fun!! Actually there were a few of the Florida persuasion last time. (No offense meant, my parents just moved to Florida and they're not even what I consider seniors I just think it's funny.) Are you two fellow Dentonites? I wouldn't mind coming out to chill, and maybe we could sample some of my friend's first crop. I don't really have very many smoking buddies anymore, one just recently started working lots of overtime and can't chill much anymore. :(

I'm not that old yet. I don't even think we have a record player anymore. :) I ussually spend my weekends chasing the kids and trying to get things done and hopefully smoke a bowl when I get the chance. It's always something. I would like to make it to a NORML meeting or event though. Maybe someday.

They say you're only as old as you feel.......I'm screwed :wtf:

I have been to quite a few reggae shows in the past, but not in quite awhile. I bet this show will be a lot of fun. Maybe bssman and I can catch up next time.

I don't live in Denton, but close to it. In fact, I go there at least once a week, sometimes more. Was there yesterday as a matter of fact.

Are you a student at one of the colleges? Hit me up on ********. My name is onward for email purposes. Of course, at ******** DOT commmmmmmmm

Have a great time. :D

Yeah email addresses get censored here... you'll get spammed otherwise. I'm not a student anymore, once I got my two-year degree I decided I was through (I needed money hehe). I think the UNT chapter will let non-students attend meetings, you just can't officially join. I got some good stuff for donating $45 - I got the Barry Cooper DVD, a nice little color-changing spoon, a cute glass pendant with an alligator clip embedded in the glass, a NORML button, and some stickers. Of course the young ladies might have treated me nice on account of I'm so sezzy.... NOT! LOL

I had to go back to Denton tonight to help a friend, and we ended up eating at Boomerjack Wings and watching the Cowboys game. Good place to eat.

I know it's a pain with all the spam when you print your address. Got bombarded with it once and had to change my email address to stop it. If you're ever on hush and sending mail, I am onward.

Take care and have a great night.:D

:D I've never been to Boomerjack Wings. Ohhhh, the hush... is that the same one StinkyAttic uses? Yeah, I'm gonna sleep good tonight. It's 12:45 and I woke up at 4:30 this morning. I'm an insomniac! Mwahahaha!

So how was the benefit concert? Was it actually possible to have a good time?? :D

You ought to try Boomerjack Wings. They have good food.

Have a great day.
