Looks like they decided to make an example of him.Nobody on US land gets that kind of time for a rape and murder.Not condoning what he did,it was pretty sick but it happens quite often here in the US and they usually get 15 to 20.

Very true and unfortunate point. It is still good to see bastards like this goto jail for the rest of their lives, though.Agreed. But I am sure there are MANY other cases of this nature that have not been dealt with...in Iraq...and here in the States.

Also, if we didn't have this retarded 'War on Drugs', our law enforcement will have more than enough time to go after sick bastards like this. I guess cannabis users are a higher priority than.

To whoever said they were an example, if someone murdered four people, raped a few, and set a girls body on fire, im pretty sure they would get the death sentence. Or life without parole, which is exactly what 110 years is.

I'm not condoning what those soldiers did. If they did this then they deserve what they get. I'll just say this: War does crazy things to your mind. It dehumanizes the enemy (a premis supported and forced upon the soldiers by their superiors). It is much easier to kill someone you hate and see as less than human. In Germany WWII, it was the Huns, Nazis, Krauts etc. In Japan it was the Nips, Japs, yellow menace etc. In VietNam it was Dinks, Gooks, slopes, etc., anyway to dehumanize the enemy. In Iraq, I'm sure they have some choice descriptive terms for Iraqis, like Ragheads, camel jockeys and probably a few more that are even more demeaning. When you see your enemy as less than human, it is easier to do inhuman things to them.

You still need to respect human life in war time. You don't go out killing civilians. I'm sorry if you disagree there, but if that is your stance, than I personally believe that you are evil and should be locked up because I would consider you a danger to me.

If you were a WWII bomber doing missions over Germany, would you have any concern about the civilians, or consider them all Nazis and blow the hell out of them anyway?
