This is from the X-Games Thursday. Jake Brown from Australia takes a 50 foot fall. The clip is nearly 3 & 1/2 minutes but near the end are some must see slow motion shots of Jake's massive crash. I don't know how he's not dead.

the was a long fall as well...he broke a lot of ribs...

Im suprised this guy walked away from that...

He was definately out of breath for a long time after that fall

Before I personally compete again in a skateboarding event like that, I'm asking for a small parachute. Or guide wires. Something. And I'm going to super-glue my shoes on, too. super glue your shoes, that would be even worse, that happened cus he had way too much speed after pumping up the tranny so he got the speed wobbles. if he were strapped he'd probably have gone off at an angle and landed in the crowd. mighta been less painfull tho :)

lol i had two crashes on a skate board and haven't got on one again...

first was a peice of gravel.... amazing how something seemingly so small can cause such a horrific wreck (i wasn't exactly just coasting..)

the next was trying to learn to ollie.... solid concrete... i came down on my back foot pretty hard.... skate board went shooting right out from under me and i hit the ground ass first, HARD and lay on the ground...

think it stops there? nope... the damn skateboard goes shooting off at rocket speed, hits a chainlink fence that was really old and decrepit... it acts as a rubberband, sending it right back, at nearly the same velocity into my ribs....

I watched a skate video like way back when when I used to skate of a fellow doing the Leap of Faith. I'm thinking his name was Jamie something, but it was like a 72 stair drop. I think he busted his ankle doing so as well.

Some skaters are hardcore though man. I bet he broke his tailbone. Can't be casted or anything but rather crushed in. Happened to a friend of mine while he was snowboarding and his ass ever since then was literally flat. Don't ask how I know as he was the kind of person to get naked in public after too many drinks. ;)
