so last night i was hanging out with this girl my friend digs and we were a little drunk and he wasnt there, so i decided to make a move and started to make out with her, next thing you know she wants a relationship but dont get me wrong i have always cared about her and im just having a little trouble deciding what to do. should i just tell him and see how he feels or just forget about her and move on. For example. My closest friend used to live right next to me and he had started a (sexual but not official) relationship with a clerk at a corner store around the block. I knew of her and always saw them together. One day before going out we stop by the store to buy god knows what and he talks to her and goes back in my car, I still have to buy all the stuff so I'm waiting in line and she start flirting with me. I don't respond to it, but I'm nice. After buying the stuff- I was prolly in your position. lol She was a very good looking girl.

So I tell him. and go figure, he doesn't care.
Of course, it all depends on how close you are but since you said best friend- he shouldn't care and should definately NOT put anyone in between you two.

I think a true friend will have less difficulty getting over "betrayal." Then again, if you do go through with it you will merely be using your friendship to manipulate concepts, such as integrity, honesty, etc. Concepts that should not be abused for personal gain.

It's her choice. She wants you, and not him. You don't have to discuss anything with him before you start with this girl. If he can't accept that, and is resentful towards you, that's his problem. It's not like you "stole" her from him. He's had the opportunity to make a move, and obviously didn't.

It's not "bros before hoes," generally speaking. That only applies if you are avoiding a relationship with your friend, because you want to hang out with your girl. In this case, it seems like everyone will be able to get along just fine.
