Anonymous Letter I got in the mail

Yes its true. It really happened. So here's the story..


It all began one beautiful day in Texas. I had just left work to get some lunch at a drive thru and I was pulling out of the parking lot onto a 3 lane one way road that had the first lane closest to me blocked off with orange cones so all the traffic was concentrated in the other two lanes. Well it was congested because of the lane being closed so I pulled up so that the front of my car was in blocked off lane so I could merge into traffic. The back of my car was blocking the sidewalk. Well all of a sudden I see this woman coming with a baby stroller and a 7 year old kid and I expected that she would just go behind me and not want to go out in front my car closest to traffic being that she had a baby stroller and all and that it is a construction area. Well she comes up and walks to the front of the car and gives me this "go to hell" look. So I'm ok..... I guess she thinks I should back up so I immediately put my car in reverse and start to back up when she exclaims loudly " Oh just forget it you fucking jerk !!! " I mean I was backing up for her and she still sad that ? It made me mad for two reasons.... One...she was very rude and said it in a tone that really struck a nerve in me for some reason, and second she was doing this in front of her 7 year old son.... I mean what kind of example does that set for him?
Well it made me so mad that I decided I was going to say something to her. I was trying to think of something to say that would really strike a nerve with her because I was so mad. I pull up next to her at the corner and exclaim " Keep walking bitch, you only have 75 more pounds to go". And then her mouth dropped and drove away.
Well the next day I go to get my mail in my mailbox and notice there is a letter in there without a stamp on it. And on the envelope it has my full name written real big with a green marker and middle initial is a D. Then there is this arrow pointing to the D... that says... "I bet I can guess what this stands for".
Then I open it and there is a letter in there that reads the following....

"What rage you must have in your miserable excuse for a life. This can only explain why you would holler foul language at a mother with her two children, did it make you feel tough? What a real man you must feel like.

I can't believe that you have the honor of being a father by whether by choice (Thank you) or because your "man hood" prevents you from doing so (thank god).

By the way that woman and children that you felt the need to vent at happen to be the wife and children of a POLICE OFFICER of 10 years in this city which is how we found you so fast.

I would be very careful to follow all road laws in the future !!!

I am also considering a civil suit. Foul language in the presence of children is considered legal slander.

How ashamed (My mothers full name) would be if i called her at 555-353-6236 .

Not only did the officer most likely violate some kinda privacy law by using his means of employment to gain very personal information he most definitely committed a felony when he "tampered" with your mail by placing an unstamped letter in their that obviously wasn't delivered by a federal employee with the rights to do so (mail carrier).

Describe her as a "heavy-set woman" and any details about the child, so the cops co-workers will recognize her too. Mumble something about getting state troopers involved, and 'whoa is me, who can I turn to when the police are the bad guys', play it up, you *are* the victim here.

If an investigation is made out of this it won't be hard to find out who it is in the end. It's obvious it is from an officer since they have all of this guys details, also I'm sure your mum could make a complaint about this also since they invaded her privacy too. The point being that if the OP points out the woman who confronted him they can then find out who's wife she is therefore leading them to the officer who sent the letter.

I really hope the OP does something about this rather than stand by and let the cop have the last laugh. It's because of things like this that we as a people loose more freedoms because we allow authorities to walk all over us and then do nothing about it.

Wait, the only way she could have been to identify you is if she remembered your license plate number or knew the model and make of the car which is generally more difficult.

Sorry, but this story really got my blood going, how a cop would do something like that. For a cop, he's a pussy not going to your house to confront you if he thinks he is all big and bad. He would have been charged anyway if he did. Cops cannot trespass on your property without a warrant or probable cause.

so I slept on this lol and now that I'm thinkin about it.. what the FUCK was a mother with any sense in her brain at all doing walking her child along a three lane highway or within any reasonable distance of it ugh.. her stupidity is evident in that alone not even takin into consideration the letter and its delivery which is where the real crime was committed and that warrants action if you're up to it..

in all serisousness if you feel like pursuing this and I sure as hell would if my mother was brought into it you first go about writing a letter to anyone with influence and an address (local politicians and media sources like local newspapers and radio/television stations) in the letter explain EXACTLY what happened and be completely HONEST. while you weren't an angel yourself you were definitely the victim of a crime and did not commit one. next you write a letter to the police chief and explain again what happened. include copies of the letter in each. also in the letter you write to the chief inform him/her you have notified local media and politicians. trust me he will not be able to look the other way on this one. I hate police and the system it's all corrupt to me but there will be no denying this one. actions will have to be taken in which case you will be the victim.

I also wanted to clear up a few things. I noticed that after I drove away I looked in my rear view mirror and noticed her pull out her cell phone and plant it to the side of her face so I thought it was quite plausible that she was calling someone to save her. But then i thought.. what could she say if she called 911 and a police officer arrived? So I just blew it off.

When I got the letter I knew instantly that she memorized my license plate number on my car and then I thought that she probably called her husband on her cell phone right then and told him something like " honey i need you to look up this license plate number for me.. this guy almost ran us over and cursed at us"... or something bullshit like that . Then he ran the plates through the Department of motor vehicles database and saw that the car was registered to a address here in the city and saw my name as well. So that part I figured out... but how would he get my mothers full name and phone number? She remarried and doesnt even have the same last name ... Also that is a FAKE phone number people !!! I would not put my moms real phone number in here LOL !!!!! Also I'm confused about one part of the letter where she goes on about " I can't believe that you have the honor of being a father whether by choice (thank you) or because your "man hood" prevents you from doing so(thank god) ." ............... I mean what does that mean? Someone please enlighten me on this one !!!

In my honest opinion you should contact your lawyer if you have one and then contact the States Attorney and Internal Affairs. Explain the situation to them and show them the letter, im sure it has fingerprints on it, maybe hers, maybe his. Anyway it goes it is a threatening letter. If youre too young you will definitely need to inform your parents about the whole situation and I am sure they will have plenty to say, to you and probably more to the D.A.. Just curious, how old are you? If you are of legal age pursue this to the hilt and don't let it go. There are plenty of free legal assistance programs that I am sure would gladly listen to your story and can tell you excatly what you are dealing with and how to pursue this. There are far too many crooked, power stricken, dumb ass cops out here doing shit they arent supposed to just like the ones that do shit like beating up on bartenders and what not. I think its sad that a man has to use a gun and a badge to feed their insecurities. Honestly speaking they are giving a bad name to the police that are actually good cops (yes I know quite a few that are GOOD, REAL, cops). First of all putting letter in someones mail box with out a postage stamp is a federal offense. All you have to do is contact the postmaster general and file a formal complaint. Second of all the stupid bitch shouldn't have tol you her husband was a cop and that's how she got the information so fast. This is a criminal offense. Cops are not allowed to look up anyones's information unless it involves a case they are working on, then they are not permitted under federal law to share that information with anyone. Contact the DA's office and file a formal complaint. Also file a formal complaint with the Chief of Police, he is obligated to turn it in to Internal Affairs who is require to do a through investigation and report any violations to the State.

There needs to be a little reality check here.

Depositing unstamped mail only results having a fine levied. It is not punishable by jail.

Misuse of government property or information can be punishable up to 5 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines. However imprisonment is unlikely, because they are by far more serious violations committed everyday with the mishandling of confidential information and property. In most cases, all they do is revoke any clearance they have. Maybe a fine levied. They save prison for the serious cases, like espionage.

Personally I think the officer and the person who was responsible for safeguarding the information should be fired. When dealing with any source of confidential information, it's a matter of public trust.

However, the officer is only an accessory to the harassment, knowingly or unknowingly. It's an internal affairs matter. Which is why you are better off calling the police.

Any civil action you should speak with a lawyer who would have more knowledge of which channels you should approach. Personally I don't think it's a clear cut case for civil action.

I really would sue or take it to the media or something. That is just so ridiculous that it does sound just like the fucking mafia. At the very least, call up your local news station, tell them what happened, and maybe they could tell you if they want your story. If they do, then you would probably win in civil court. If money is an issue, there are always those lawyers that you only have to pay if they win.

Threatened or not this cop should be out of a job. When you become an enforcer of the law you have a moral standard you must live up to, this cop obviously failed to realize that. The twinkies being seized has made me laugh out loud 5 times. I just imagine the feds pulling up to her house to take her twinkies and she steps out the front door and just starts squeezing twinkie juice all over the cops. It would end 8 stressful hours later with a .50 caliber sniper rifle. And twinkies would be everywhere. It would look kind of like that movie Smokin' Aces after the guys with the chainsaws went through, but cream instead of blood.
