Why is it that you have to cure your buds for about 2 weeks to a month and how do you do this? i heard of water curing with jars... so whats wrong with just drying them out and smoking the buds? Also with method should i use to cure of buds? Thank You

If you don't cure you get a nasty chloryphyll taste like eatting grass :(.

Cure by using a glass transparent cookie jar and open the lid for a couple of hours every few days or when it mists up.

I like the old fashion way....put your buds in a brown paper bag fold the top over so no light gets in,but not so tight that it holds air, then toss it in the bottom of your closet for a cpl weeks.

While we are on the subject, should I put my lovely glass jar in the dark when curing the buds then?

the first thing that attracted me to good home grown was the green distinct smell/taste. fresh compaired to comercial. now i still smoke it if it isnt completely cured (while im waiting that is)but honestly its the best if you cure it right. i do the paper sack glass jar method. now you' ll want to know why it smells like hay for a little while? i did.

after cutting down your plant and trimming the leaves off(some leave them on and wait till they are dry to remove leaves) put the branches/buds in a single layer in the bottom of a paper bag. you can open or close the bag to get the desired dryness that you prefer. daily shift the buds around so the dry evenly and dont mold. it can take up to a week or so to get dry enough to use the jars. they will feel dry and a little crispy to the touch but there is still lots of moisture in the center of the buds. put the buds loosly into your glass jars and put the top on it. open your jars daily for a few minutes to let out some moisture, you will feel how much water was still in there the first time you open the jars. the buds will be damp all over again. keep doing this daily untill the moisture is even throughout the buds and you reach the point where they wont get moldy anymore. then just keep the buds stored in the jars, after a while you wont have to open them daily just every so often to check on them. during the last few days of drying and the first few days in the jars it will probably smell more like hay than buds because of the chlorophyll bieng processed out. it will eventually smell like real buds again once that is done.
