two questions: for a cab grow, what would be the quietest fans? 120mm pc fans i would think? yes?

and also, what would be the easiest/cheapest way to wire them? and i think i've seem variable-output power supplies so that you can crank the fan up or down; anyone using that? i'm going to be doing a large single cab with room for moms, veg, and flower, all cfl because of heat issues, but it's to go in my bedroom and i want to keep the noise down as much as possible, while also pulling enough air for the plants

and here's the other question: what sort of fan would you need to deal with the heat made by a 250w hps (i have one, but am thinking that using it will be difficult in the cab, with low noise). is there a way i can cool the flowering area enough without a very loud fan? any quiet inline fans? cuz i'm thinking pc fans wouldn't be enough?

i live in socal, though near the beach; temps of 75F are pretty standard

hey there onequickmove. im not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to ventilation but for cooling a 250watt i believe you will need atleast a 250cfm fan to exchange the air atleast twice a minute, which is recommeneded* (somebody correct me if im wrong)-.:twocents:

This doesn't make sense for a whole lot of reasons....

You need to cool your light AND you need to vent your grow space. You can push/pull the air thru a cooled fixture. If your grow space is the source of that air, you are venting it at the same time.

YouTube - Hack your AC adapter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSYKArb72nA)

I bought a fan that is 120mm and has a High/Low dial. I didn't know how to properly wire it so I think I shorted it.. Cant be sure though. I'll give you an update when I get home.

ok here's the REAL question: can someone reccommend me a powerful fan that is also reasonably quiet? it's just going to be one wardrobe-sized cab, but i want to keep things cool; i'm thinking an inline fan about 150cfm or so? are they noisy? cost is also an issue, and pc fans i think may not cut it, but then again................. maybe with three 120mm fans evacuating air, it would push a fair amount of air
