Hey peeps,
Lots of 'my plant is sick' questions as always... and I realize that a lot of new growers aren't even fully aware of the types of things that they need to take into consideration when asking for advice, so I made a list of the common ones.
If you have a problem, go ahead and cut-and-paste this list into your post to make it easier for the growers here to help you.
Don't worry about answering every question, but the more information you give, the faster and more accurately we can help solve your problems!
Happy growin'.

I remember you were commenting on someone who took pics of his plants (a little research and I might find who he was and the thread, can't remember right now). For each plant he had a top view and a side view. If I remember, you said that this was a good way to take pictures as it's easy to how the plant looks and see different symptoms if any. Maybe you wanna include that in the form? As well as any close up pictures they might want to take of specifically what they noticed.
Anyways nice form.

The post referenced above is a wonderful example of the angles that you should take pictures from to help us diagnose your plants. Granted the lighting and picture quality could be a bit better but the angles- top, side, side showing nodes, and diagonal- show the plant's structure and leaves well.

E= EVERYONE needs to answer lol!
So, if it says E : indoor or outdoor, everyone needs to answer this E=everyone.
If it says HCL-Hydro/aero/soilless system type, you answer if your are growing hydro (h), if you use coco (c), or if you do soilless (L). If you grow in soil, you don't have to answer this.
You cannot diagnose with pictures alone because some problems look like others, and there may be a combination of problems.
Read through some plant problems threads, and you can see how important both pictures and the form are.

We've had a new problem (to us). Reddish-brown spots are appearing in the center area of the middle leaves in our veg room. These are dead tissue, and the affected leaves show curling. Doesn't seem to me to be an insect or nutrient problem, but I don't know how to diagnose or treat this slowly spreading.....

I've been troubleshooting here at CanCom for a few months, and still I have problems deciphering the other form.
Since I had a couple of days of free time lately, I came up with these revised forms. (one for soil, one for hydro)
If you think this is easier to use or understand, or if there is anything I missed, please chime-in.
Also, if the mods would prefer I could start a fresh thread for these, but I never got a response when I asked.

Good one Italiano, thanks. Will edit that into my copy, or into it's own post if there's still an interest. Hydro never get's straight fresh water unless to correct a problem, right...? Quantity of runoff when watering/feeding came to mind also.
I guess it could get too complicated if worried about the minutia, but am seeking the perfect troubleshooting form, lol.
Any additional imput or suggestions is/are welcome. I'm not trying to step on anyones toes, just trying to make it a bit easier to follow the troubleshooting form.

Umm not too sure, you mean like how often is the reservoir changed. I think hydro changes the reservoir every 2 weeks or so....Not sure as I'm not a hydro grower though.
Was also thinking to adding to the how often you water one.....how much water are your giving them also. Like 1 gallon water each pot....2 gallons water each pot, etc.
Let me reword how I was thinking this.....
"How often (times day/week) do you water and how much water is given to each container, pertaining to the size of the container?"
If ^^^^ makes any sense to ya......

I am one my 3rd day of bubbleponics and am having problems from the get go.
second day of production i woke up to my ressi full of foam and the pump was barley working. does anyone know what causes this? Also i noticed my ressi water was stinky. what would cause that to happen. my ph level was 6.8 but now is 6.4 and slowly dropping do to ph down i put in today. I also live on well water is that good to use? My plant are starting to turn yellow at the bottoms and are drooping more everyday. Could i get some help or a push in the right direction. lights i am using are 2 cfl 46 watts and 2 led 56 watts.

Since I had a couple of days of free time lately, I came up with these revised* troubleshooting forms. (one for soil, one for hydro)
If you would kindly copy the appropriate section, (hydro or soil...not both) and post it into your own thread, and answer the questions.
The answers you provide to this form will help other's to get the full picture, and be better able to diagnose the problem. Answer all questions as best you can. Missing answers may lead to an inaccurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
Good luck to ya...

If they copy and paste, they can easily provide answers after each question. At least I'd think so...and the easier they make us understand their circumstances, the better the chance of their success. (neatness counts, and detention if work not shown) Answers in bold would be nice, too. Easier to scan the list.
But if history is any indication, it'll get filled out many different ways. Sort of a quasi Rorschach test, lol.

Well, someone with outdoor experience could likely throw one together with more insight than I, but it's a damn good Idea and I'm bummed I didn't think of it. <sticks tongue out at phatsesh>

Am curious why FBR never answered my request for guidance regarding this project. I asked him a couple of times if and how I should approach this, but nada.. I wonder...do I take his silence as acquiescence or disapproval...?
Has anyone with outdoor experience put any thought into the outdoors form?

Hey peeps,
Lots of 'my plant is sick' questions as always... and I realize that a lot of new growers aren't even fully aware of the types of things that they need to take into consideration when asking for advice, so I made a list of the common ones.
If you have a problem, go ahead and cut-and-paste this list into your post to make it easier for the growers here to help you.
Don't worry about answering every question, but the more information you give, the faster and more accurately we can help solve your problems!
Happy growin'.

Hello out there I am a first time hydro grower. I need some advice. My bottom branches on my plant are drying turning pail and yellow I believe it was caused by a nute overdose when I moved my girl to flowering. Since then I have trimmed rusty brown roots added hydrogen peroxide. I was only 2 weeks into flowering at that time so I bumped it back to veggie stage for 2 more weeks now this is what I have see pics. As you can see the bottom branches are drooping but the top is thribing any suggestions?

You should have posted this as a new thread in plant problems. People won't see it here.

Thanks for the assist folks, it's appreciated.
Ok...how's this one? I think I included everything mentioned.
The only way for me to accurately post one for outdoors, is to look online and steal some ideas to construct one, or, if someone here has a few spare moments and would like to participate by outlining what the content should include...All appropriate credit will be given, or, y'all can post it y'alls self, lol. (but I'd practice here first for additional imputs):

I am having a hard time finding the troubleshooting thread to fill out the form, so I will try my question here (and if anyone knows where I can find the troubleshooting form, plz let me know) We are starting to get concerned with our seeds and clones. Over the last 2 years we have not really had a problem with seeds or clones, until recently. We put them under the dome and once we place into the tub (we grow hydroponics) they just seem to stop growing. The clones just seem to stay small and wimpy looking. The seeds stretch for the light, and most of the seeds pull themselves up and grow nicely. We follow all the step when cutting clones, but I am wondering if the change in tempuratures from day to night could cause this? We do have air/heat control in the rooms but I just can't figure out why the clones aren't growing and why the seeds grow so slow. Thanks to all those that read and those that give any suggestions. Thanks :D
