Hey whats up everyone I usually garden in hydro but I'm trying my first soil grow and I had a few questions. First off I'm growing 3 plants in a 4x5x8 area with a 1000w hps in flower. Here is a link of my nutrient usage http://boards.cannabis.com/hydroponics/93676-proven-nutrients-all-you-need-gh-3-part-calmag.html
So I water when the top of the soil is very dry is this the right thing to do? Also I had noticed a little yellowing on some leave tips so I flushed with ph'd water for to days. I'm a week into flower and they are looking great heres a few pics of them the day they went into flower. The one in the green pot is Skunk69 and the other two are NLxSkunk Purchased from a canadian breeder I know.

watering is tough....and its especially hard to explain online via typing. plants that size in pots that big will probably need watering almost everyday. especially if you have fans blowing on them (the moving air helps evaporate water). you can buy a moisture meter raeally cheap these days to help you. in terms of yellowing flowers during flowering....a little bit is normal and it will probably gradually increase as the buds become bigger and you're further into it.

My advice would be to ignore how dry the soil is at the top - it will always dry out first there.. With that size of pot I would suggest every 4-5 days, but LIFT THE POT when you've given them a good soaking, try to remember how heavy it is, then lift it after 3/4 days and see what if feels like - if its light, water. Simple as that.

I wouldn't worry about lower leaf yellowing, as firetheft says, its normal..
