Ok so, heres the deal, I work @ homedepot. and for any one who was ever wondering, yes, we sell almost everything you'll ever need to grow. I was wondering we sell lights, specifically called "Plant lights" they come in 70w and 120w, the lights look like flood lights, with a purple cap on the end. do these type of lights work good for pot?

usually, those are just 'hobby' type lights, so Mom can keep her African Violet alive on the kitchen counter, no good for real growing ... heat, low light output, at the wrong spectrums, and expensive ... better to use CFLs, or tube fluorescents ... we have a 'LIGHTING' section here in the Forum, go sift thru the previous posts, use the SEARCH feature, it's all here already ... good growing ! :smokin:

If you are talking about the incandescent lights... you would be better off with a fluorescent light.

Just to check it out, I've tried those things, and DAMN do they suck booty.
Also the slick-looking shop lights that HD was selling for a while that are made of that cool chromed diamondplate steel are a TERRIBLE product and to not stand up to humidity- the standard $9 4-footers are much more durable. fit them with 'cool white' tubes and you are good to go

haha yeah those 4 ft shoplights for 8.49, i would use those, im doing a cabinet grow. so no room for it. so CFLS work the best eh? ill have to do another store walk and see what supplies i can find.
