Alright me and my friends are going to amsterdam within the next few months! I was wondering where to find cheap tickets and is november the best time to go? (cheapest and the cannabis cup is in nov right?) and also this one guy told me he just went and found cheap hotels when he got there... Anyone with any information feel free to contribute!!!

for hotels I use bookings dot nl.
November is a cheap time to go, and yes the cannabis cup is the week before Thanksgiving.
The cup is a good introduction to A'dam if you've never been before, but it can also be a distraction from everything else there is to see.
If price is an issue, there are Hostels that are quite cheap. I stay at the Bulldog, but if you are going to do that, better book it soon, since they fill up fast and definitely won't have beds available if you wait.
If you want a little nicer place, check out the Quentin Hotel.

Amsterdam is a big city, but it's easy to get around. Get a 'strippencart' for the trams, and you can get just about anywhere.

Well my husband and I are going to Cannabis Cup this November, but I booked the trip (air, hotel, judges passes) months ago. We did get some great rates. The airfare has gone up about $70 since we booked. It is still a pretty reasonable trip though, just remember that for every Euro you spend it is about $1.35 american. I will reccomend this though when you arrive go to Barney's as they are the 1st coffeeshop open and try the Barney Rubble nederhash, it is wonderful, it wins the cup each year since I went to my 1st Cup in 2004.
