i proposed the idea of a Nalgene Bong to my friends recently... they only thought it would hold up "for a while". that was until after i reminded them that the homemade gravz & bubblers we make always last "for a while", but a Nalgene bong would definitely last you as long as you ever needed one.
What's the verdict, assuming you could penetrate it to fit in the bowl?

nalge is based out of my town and my aunt runs the import/export dept!
i have dozens of them laying around cause she brings bottles at every family get together but i dont have a drill. a friend im going to see soon has a drill i will PERSONALLY try to drill a hole in 1 of my bottles to see if its a good solid hole. maybe ill make the whole thing and post it ill see
if you make it right it will probably last forever and ever, i have done everything to those bottles to ruin them and the only 2 things i have tried (this is over 12 years and a LOT of bottles and a LOT of boredom and my aunt always boasting that they are unbreakable :D) so i have tried more ways to break them than i can remember and heres wat worked:
running it over with my mothers minivan (my camry bent it but it didnt crack)
taking a double edged brand new sharp as fuck axe (3 or 4 swings and i had it in half)
if you wanna make something nice u should go to a headshop and buy a stainless steel downstem and slide for like 10bucks maximum.. then get a lot of chewing gun and seal the hole with that and let it dry it should hold for awhile and when u wanna clean it (this is if u want this piece to really last) you can take the gum out and chew some more when youre done cleaning.
although i think if you smoke a lot out of it the gum might get soft again so perhaps it wont work.. but it would still stay sealed i dont know

Dude, you DEFINITELY should make one and let us all know the deal. I've never destroyed a Nalgene, but my current one has what I like to call, a Nalgina. I filled it with water, and then put it in the freezer and forgot about it. The next day I take it out, and it's expanded as a result of the water freezing. But it hasn't busted, perhaps it's outter skin split, causing what be known on a human as a stretch mark.. the top layer of the nalgene split down one side, but the second layer keeps it together. so basically i have a big gaping vagina on my nalgene. they're hardly indestructable, but they sure are funny. maybe if i ever made a bong out of it, it'd be easier to poke a hole thru the already-damaged part.
*rubs chin* Hmm..
