well just got done watching the 2 hour long show about the USS Indianapolis...
the ending line... well kinda made me realize just how bad humans really are...
"An average of 4 humans are killed by sharks every year..... in that same period, Nearly 40,000,000 sharks are killed by humans."

Yeah I just watched it! That was one hell of a sad story. I cant believe that they were in the water for so long. What really got me was the part when they start hallucinating.

nah the halucinations were like.. people saying there's an island just over there and a bunch of them lining up and swimming off to the mdidle of the ocean thinking they're headed to land...
and some dude started screaming some japanese guy is fighting him....
the worst tho, was a bunch of soldiers saying the ship was just 'down there' and 'the water fountain is still working' and saying they're going down to get a drink of water and 'ice cream'

Yeah but in all seriousness it was sad. The sailers started saying stuff like, "I see an island! Right over there." and they would swim out and get attacked. or they would say, "Im swimming to the ship, its right below us. I bet the water fiuntain still works, I want an ice cream.". I think the salt water and heat was getting to him.

I would terrified if I were hallucinating while I was being assailed by hungry sharks. As if being on a shark's menu wasn't surreal enough, then you start trippin'!
And slip, you say nearly 40,000 sharks have been killed by humans? That's huge compared to the number of shark attacks recorded. You should know what you're getting into when you tread into open waters. You would think by now that it would be mandatory, if you're going to surf or whatever, to have shark repellent.

no not fourty thousand, fourty million and i said 'in that same period' ...
as in four people are killed by sharks a year, while we humans kill nearly fourty million sharks A YEAR

That's even more incredible. Although, if a particular species is not endangered, it's likely that scientists have made a breakthrough in mating them in captivity or they are simply extinct...can't be endangered if you don't exist, right? Still, even with artificial insemination, you can't restore the original numbers.
