so i was in florida and got a bullshit henna tattoo that washed away in like 2 weeks lol, but it got me thinking, i like the tattoo look.

ive been thinking and i want to get something that i like and something that means something to me. so i had a hard time coming up with a symbol design phrase and all that.

i liked the sun symbol, so i looked into that, and i love the grateful dead so i looked into that. i found a decent sun design online and used the dead lightning bolt in the design because i figured even if i stop liking the dead its just a lightning bolt and doesnt have to mean the dead.

i started sketching and messing around in photoshop and came up with the pic below.

what do you guys think? i dont think i want that exact design, maybe mess around and get some cooler looking rays or something but thats the general idea.

erm.. any tats i like are skulls or dragons :p

the important thing is how you feel about it.... it's gonna be on your body for life, fuck what everyone else thinks.... the only question should be if you want it or not....

go into the parlow and tell the artist what you want and have him come up with a custom design because it'll be one of a kind even though it'll cost a little more it'll be worth it.

^ Yeah that looks a bit better but getting a tattoo is great. I got one on my lower back that is pretty big. Just make sure you reallllllly want one. Getting them taken off is supposed to hurt really bad and sometimes it wont come off the entire way.

so i want something that will still look good after if i change my mind.

thing is i want one pretty abd but i just dunno right now what i want.. maybe if i just go to a parlor ill see something and work that into my own design

i just sketched out this one on paper, i like it alot more.

that looks badass as shit. i say go for it. you only live once. the greatful dead are awesome. and you can get em removed more easily-ish nowadays.
the only reason why i'd be careful about a tattoo is the location you get it...you might want to get it somewhere you can hide it (in a professional/business setting) if need be, yaknow? but you've probably already thought about that.
by the way, as far as i know it should cost about $100 maybe a little more. one of my good friends got a 4-inch-long tat last week and it cost her 100.

the original sun you had with a SYF logo would be awesome, in color, but have the artist sketch it out for you,,,,,also make sure you love it and wont regret it in ten years

Cool design, but getting logo's of your current fav. bands is not a good idea. That's like getting your girlfriends/boyfriends name tattooed on you.

My brother got a Nine Inch Nails custom done many years ago, and now he regrets it as he is so religious now, and NIN is oposite of that.

I wanted to get the Slipknot tribal design done on me, and I almost did, but luckily, and thankfully I didn't get it done as I don't care much for them anymore.

I like the sun and everything, but instead of the G.D. logo, find or draw something that is more you. Perhaps design, or like someone suggested, get the tattoo artist to sit down with you and come up with something that means a little bit more than a band.

That's just me though. :)

i think thats a good idea, i thought the bolt itself would still look cool in the design but im not sure.. maybe the cancer design or some sort of symbol in a different language that means loyalty or something to that effect. found some cool stuf fon the internet thanks guys

What you think is what matters, you have to see it for the rest of your life.:jointsmile:I have 4 tats, soon to be more. They are addicting!but choose something that means something to you and you're less likely to get tired of it....:D:rasta:
