Well for me i would have to say both but definately personality a hell of a lot more important, no point being with the sexiest woman in the world if your sharing her with 10 other men..
But these days i think most people go for looks first, i mean if you personally dont think someone is psysically attractive upon first looking at them then you are unlikely to go up to them and talk.
But personally i do think that looks as imporant aswell but just not as much as personality.
Appearance draws me in. Personality decides whether I stay or go. I think people are so fixed on finding the perfect person that they refuse to learn or deal with anyone outside their liking. No matter how someone behaves, if you can answer questions about their personality and learn to cope in a loving way, then love can be had with anyone. Know what I'm saying, CC?

Basically if you get to know someone that well then you can learn and grow to love them? Yeah i get what your saying but that takes time a whole lot of times years.. especially to know someone inside out and how they think, and when that happens you might realise what a bitch they are! or how much you like them on the other hand.

don't get me wrong... i wouldn't of dated an ape...
but mostly it's personality.... got a 10 body/face? got a 0 personality? well... you're like a 1 to me....

That's where the universal love comes in. And you can't really get into with someone if they're not willing or available. There are so very many opportunities for love out there. Live by loving principles and you can be successful in any relationship. That's how I see it. It's difficult to maintain that kind of perspective, especially when you find someone who really challenges you. I'll remain diligent with that mindset until I crack and lose it all. I don't know what else to do?

Personality all the way. Appearance sometimes, but that's usually the opposite of how most people work it... if I see a girl with a perfect tan, bleached-blonde hair, and tight skimpy clothes it's a total turn-off - to me, that means she's expecting to get by on her looks.

definately personality, if they got looks, then its a bonus, but for the most part.
its what Ganj said, about the looks drawing you in then getting to know the person. It has neve rbeen about looks to me... haha and i always felt weird about that, when someone said oh that guy is hot I'D DO HIM! I had no response because I've never been able to relate to that. Yeah someone's whose way to over done on everything.. doesnt catch my eye in a good way.. Good personality all the way =D.. im sorry to say if really untidy and dirty, i would NOT get with you.. you could be my best friend though, i just wouldnt marry you.. lol.

too complicated of an answer to respond by just picking one or the other (or even both) on the poll
looks are what gets a girl's foot in the door, then after that personality's more important, yaknow.

Nope, Ive never went for the six pack kind of guys. I need something more. I mean John is kinda chubby himself and Ive never been more in love. I cant wait to spend the rest of my life with him. We have the best conversations too. We'll watch the Universe show and just get into these really cool talks. We'll listen to news talk radio in the car and have the most thrilling political talks. Just going to the museum and the zoo and the art museum together is a total blast. He stimulates me mentally like no one ever has. He's the whole package for me.

The history and doscovery channel in the US isnt boring at all haha. Neither is the news which I look forward too at 6:am on Fox. I just love to learn. Im a big reader too. Always have been. My parents number one priority for me was school and my dad got me into politics and history. Thats why I cant stand girls and people my age. Never have. I need someone who knows current events. Sure I dont look like it but damn, ill talk politics with anyone.

The history channel was kicking it up a notch last night. Did anyone else catch that special on zombies? They were discussing America's fascination with re-animated souls. And it got me thinking, "what is the deal?" I can relate to zombies. At times, I feel dead, I don't crave brains but my own particular cravings are relentless like a zombie's. And also, you know how zombies have the ability to turn other people into mindless, walking dead? Well sometimes I observe myself rubbing off on people when I'm in that "zombie" state. I don't know...it was a cool thought though. It helped me a little bit too, in realizing that I can better attain answers to many of my problems by observing and analyzing society. Usually, I leave everyone else out of my own affairs, because well...who better know me than me, right? Turns out that is a naive thought.

It was pretty good for the few minutes I was tuned in. Once that thought got into my head, I had to turn off the television so I wouldn't be distracted by the following commercials. Plus, you can't do much thinking with the television on. You can think along with the show but you're only working your brain so much, not like you would when you turn it off. That's why when I watch television, I watch something I can learn from. Sports on television is a great tool for thinking, when you turn the commentators off, you can learn so much from say watching boxing. Much more I think than watching the science channel, because you are doing your own assessment and there are no facts, just what you see.

Absorbing facts is basically all I do! I do wish sometimes I would take an idea the program introduces and run with it, you know? Peak my interest, so to speak. It would be cool but with t.v., you really have to take everything at face value, or absorb facts. Because underneath all those facts lies a tangled web of ideas and information. Things we couldn't begin to touch base on without the proper education on the subject. But, if everyone watches television, we could all engage in fruitless, seemingly intelligent conversations! lol Sorry for being cynical but I'm afraid I'm intellectually peaked at nineteen years of age.

doubt it
I appreciate your kind words, but what I meant by "intellectually peaked," is that I'm not going down in history for anything the likes of organizing a revolution. Although, I still refuse to accept mediocrity...

I would have to say personality..definitly for me..I just met this girl, who is fine as fuck, I am really attracted to her, but as far as communication goes, zero, nada..I can barely even communicate with her, 2 different wavelengths...we are nothing alike..looks like she will just be a booty call..forgive me...haha I have to be stimulated physically and mentaly to really like a girl..and I have to be able to communicate on all kind of different levels..

I would take a cute girl with an awesome personality over an absolutely gorgeous girl with zero personality ANY DAY...
However, I also could not be with someone who I didn't find attractive at all. I'm sorry, but I just think that a part of love is physical; not all of it, of course, but a key component.

Count me in. Im obsessed with the search to understand absolutely every piece of experience, information, knowledge and wisdom that the vast universe has to offer. And I wont rest until I have accomplished that. I will most certainly die before then, but rest I wont.
Oh and sorry to hijack CC!! I put my vote in for personality. Of course to find a girl whose personality matches everything you want, and is the most beautiful girl you and all your friends have seen, would be quite the catch!
However, after a few minutes of understanding how a person thinks, I have found myself drawn deeper and deeper into the personalities of females I didnt think I would have originally been attracted to.
To the person that says looks draw you in, you are right, but I disagree that you cant see personality from afar. Body language, body language, body language. Imperceptible to many, priceless to all. I dont go looking for girlfriends, I dont go looking for sex. When I have a girlfriend Im obviously not looking around seeing who i want to be with, but when Im single like I am now.. its pretty much the same. Walking around all day judging all the sexy women I see, thinking "man I would love to get with her" would be a futile waste of effort. Sure I take notice of attractive ladies, but oddly enough, its in my own way.. and Im telling you right now that it is by FAR the minority in the way 99% of guys think. When somebody stumbles into my life that is so enigmatic that I cant help but notice them, thats when I start forming those opinions.

Personality 75%
Looks - not looks specifically, but physical attraction that can come from looks, demeanor, sense of style, etc- 25%.
I can think of people who I think are physically attractive, but I am personally not attracted to them even in a shallow 'he's hot' way, just because there is some element missing.
The most important is that two people have a positive communication- happy, flirty, respectful.

Communication doesn't come from looks Stinky......at least not the kind I'm thinking about.
Looks are very nice. They also don't last. Base your decision on them and you'll wonder down the road what you were thinking. Like having a beautiful car in your driveway.....but no engine.

Oh I know- that's what I was trying to say, communication is most important and totally UNRELATED to looks. I started to fall for my man before I even knew what he looked like. We had a great rapport. Discovering that he's a cutie pie with a great smile was just the icing on the cake.
