BEGINNER WITH A QUESTION!!!

hey guys, this is my first time growing so I kept it small with just two plants. I've got them in a growspace of about 3 square feet and they're under two 2' flo tubes (daylight/sunlight kind) and two daylight CFL's, total wattage is 280 watts. ALRIGHT so here is my question...if I am not lookin to get a huge yield out of this first grow, just enough to test it out but still enough to be worth my time, when should I switch them to a 12/12 cycle for flowering??

and also, when I do switch them to a 12/12 cycle should i gradually decrease the light, or is that only important if you are increasing the light?

This thread should get moved, but switch to 12/12 when you see alternating nodes (main stme starts looking zigzag). If you don't see them, then switch when the plant reaches 1/3-1/2 of the height you want it to finish.

Switching the lights, just stick them on a 12/12 timer. Don't try to do it gradually- it is almost impossible to do that smoothly.
