View Full Version : Weird smells.
This is a weird question that has nothing to with weed! Does anyone every get like a really strong smell of, for example, ammonia or bleach...it only lasts for a few seconds but you can smell it really clearly?
I know it's really weird...Sometimes I smell lemons or beer...but there's no beer or lemons around...I hope it's not like some weird mental illness or I have a brain tumor or something! It doesn't happen every day...just every once in a while....WEIRD!!

Yeah i know what you mean my guess is its because a neighbour or someone near by is using bleech or whatever you smell and then the wind carries it even if all doors and windows are shut maybe it can be carried through the draught, just a guess.

I know what you mean. I think some people has misunderstood your post. Do you mean its a smell which isnt actually there but you think you can smell it and then goes quickly. I get the ammonia one now and again.
It is proberly your brain playing tricks on you. I mean your brain is the part of your body which actually lets you know what the smell is after it has entered your nose. So if it has smelt that smell before, I would think it would have a chemical pre disposition to recreate that smell even though it isnt there. Then again I could just be talking shit

JR77, keep an eye on that "smell" thing if it keeps up, particularly if you're not on any type of medications that might cause olfactory sensitivity as a side-effect. That can sometimes be an early symptom of a medical/neurological issue.

I used to get a smell of soured milk for a few weeks... and now I get it rarely. It's really disturbing when you just took a shower and mopped all your floors and brushed your teeth and took out the trash and then, suddenly... WHAM!!! Homemade yogurt just as strong as can be hits you in your nose... I never found out what was causing it.

That's exactly what I meant!! I only get like a whiff or 2 of it (whatever the smell is that time) and then when I start to think about it and smell "harder" it's gone...but for the first sniff or 2 it is REALLY strong. It is really strange...but it doesn't happen every day - maybe a few times a week I think!! And it doesn't bother me...it's just WEIRD!
And Thanks Birdgirl, too, I am not on any medications...so I guess if it starts to happen more often it might be something to get checked out!! I hope it's not some build up of THC on my brain or something! LOL

Just make sure you're not smelling burning, that's a good sign of Alzheimers.
