$33 thousand dollars???????? Really? You can get a decent 50 inch for just a couple grand...

That's absurd. I would feel guilty watching it. Sheesh.

Unless you live in a house the size of a museum with an extremely large room to watch it in, it's a waste of money. You'll want to have a separate high-powered, high-end sound system for it as well, since the crappy built-in speakers and amplifiers are only good for watching the weather and news.

Large tv's are a joke.I had a 52" Philips HD a cheap one for $1000 it sucked. Then I bought an Infocus IN72(not HD) for $469.What A difference!!!:thumbsup:I built a 120" screen and there is no comparison.I highly recommend to anyone looking foe a big screen tv to look at projectors. You can get a really nice HD projector for $1000 to $2000 and have as big a screen as you want. Most will go as high as 300".And the pictures are amazing.

lol talk about having a big room... You would need a room over 25ft long for the projector to be back far enough to be 300" on the opposite wall.

You beat me to it. I was going to say something like this. I plan to do this for my next tv purchase. I'm just going to buy a decently priced projector and set it up to project onto the white wall in front of my bed.

$33k...no thanks. :)

The screens are pretty easy and cheap to build. You use drapery blackout cloth you can buy at your local fabric store and build the frame out of 1"X3"'s but smooth walls work too.Just paint them with a nongloss white.

People underestimate the power of money to corrupt a man/woman's soul to greed and selfishness. We're poor and we fantasize about possessing television screens so large it would be a burden to watch-a testament to the power of money; if you don't have it, you want it. No one can escape it's grasp. In reality, no one can escape their desires, and if you do you are categorized as an unambitious. Now, I realize that one's fancy for a screen like this can be motivating, thus inspiring work ethic and fortitude in the pursuit of one's desire. Given that point, this is what I'll be working towards next...

Did you have one before you lost your vision?

My vision is why I bought the projector.I had a hard time seeing my old 27"(I still use it for watching the news) and then I bought the Big screen Philips and got burned on that piece of shit(can't even get the parts to fix a year old tv)so then I bought the Infocus and its nice to be able to see whats going on,like the banners that run on NASCAR races.I was never able to see that on my 27"

Prices are droping like flys, That be under 10,000 in 3 years, 60" are around $4,000 now. You'd hate yourself when you saw it 4 years latter for $6,995.00. The heart of the flat screen price wars will be 2010 when most people have one and then they(Manufacturers) have to earn a upgrade though price and featurs. in 2003 a 50" Pannisonic plasma was $12,000 now they are $2,000 Im waiting myself and 09 - 10 is my taget to get big for litte price. :)
