i am about to order some blueberry seeds from dutch pasion, so i guess i was wondering if anyone has grown or known someone who has grown blueberry before. i need some tips, facts, pro's, and con's of the strain, seedbank, or even the effect of the plant after smoked! appreciate it

I have a poor opinion on Dutch Passion seeds, as is becoming more common these days ... :smokin:

why?!? should i not order from them? its just that they have the cheapest strain of straight blueberry and it said that it was the winner of the cannibis cup 2 diff years....it sounded and looked really good

Blueberry isn't a beginner strain.
Get something more tolerant of abuse.
Especially after seeing your advice on a couple other threads, your plants are going to need to be pretty hardy.

no, they do NOT have the 'cheapest' strain of blueberry (if that is how you rate MJ) ... and, they won those Cups several years ago, THINGS CHANGE ... go ahead and buy it, it's not my money (they will get no more of mine) ... :smokin:

first, I agree wholeheartedly with StinkyAttic, blueberry can be a problematic strain, but, let me show you where to spend your money ...
let's see, your Dutch Passion Blueberry (which I have a very poor opinion of) is priced at $83, (plus shipping) from Growshop Alien, (about as cheap as you will find it, unless you're looking at Nirvana knock-offs, etc.) ... I would buy the following, IF I wanted a quality blueberry at an affordable price :

Blueberry Joey Weed Seeds (http://www.hempdepot.ca/seeds/joeyweed/Blueberry.html) ... $45 ...

but, I am also intrigued by this one: Marijuana Cannabis seeds at Hemp Depot Shipped Worldwide (http://www.hempdepot.ca/seeds/canadian/Killer%20Blue.htm)

that just sounds nice, I received some freebies of the Canadian Seed co., once, and it was quite good ... :smokin:

if you do order the Joey Weed Blueberry, be sure to pay close attention to his suggestions for LIGHT-feeding, etc .... he gives very accurate descriptions of his strains, it's not just 'advertising' ... while you're waiting, you will have time to read a good Grow book ... go here: GrowMoreWeed.com - Guides to growing cannabis weed marijuana (http://www.growmoreweed.com/) , ... all the books listed on the left are FREE downloads, (.zip files) ... anything by Ed Rosenthal and/or Mel Frank, are easy to understand and good info (don't take ANY grow book 100%, use common sense) ... :smokin:

thanks for the advice u guys, as always it is greatly appreciated! i know its probably a difficult grow, but ever since i tasted the sweet blueberry, i vowed i would grow it, so its just something i have to do....by the way how did the creators of blueberry get it to taste like that?!?!? no one can giive me a straight answer....something about cloning i think

Cloning does nothing more than give you an exact genetic replica of the parent plant; it's not a breeding method.

Cannabis is an amazing plant in the RANGE of terpenes (aroma/flavor) that it can produce, and the dominant flavor in blueberries has a counterpart in cannabis. It's simply a matter of finding a parent, and selecting its offspring for the most powerfully-scented examples of the aroma you want to breed.

I'd rather be "Da Shit" than "Da Man" as everyone seems to be calling me lately.
I judge new membership numbers by the number of times per week I'm "dude"-ed.
We obviously have a lot of newbies this July!
:D

(Oh... and I'm only a lady in the street HAHAHAHAHAHA)

the only way this may ever be settled, would be for you to submit to an 'inspection' ... did somebody say " FBI " ?? :D ('female body inspector', figured I better explain that, before everybody runs for cover) ... :D

Are the different traits, like terpenes, catalogued in any way that a person can pick and choose the traits they want to breed into a strain?

PC :wtf:

I don't know of anyone who is doing that, you pretty much have to be aware of what strains carry what stanks. It would be a FANTASTIC genetics project though to run tests on a bunch of the classic strains and catalogue who's carrying genetics for what, but like THAT will ever happen, lol... I'm pretty sure it's being done in relation to medically interesting compounds, but I HIGHLY doubt that anyone cares enough about classifying flavors to spend that kind of dough.

hey man ive got blueberry buy duthc passion on tha go at the moment ive also got strawberry cough all feminized seeds
i think dutch passion are one of the best seed banks around i get 90-100% germination rate and the plants are always sturdy and healthy
one thing i will say about DP's blueberry is that they are somewhat more fragile than other strains ive grown so watch for over ferts and the other thing this is perfectly normal for that strain is that 1 or 2 plants will develope male flowers early during flowering (1-3 weeks) DP says that you should jus remove these and it will flower as normal which they do,most of the male flowers actually turned into female after about a week.
but if you dont keep an eye on them one or 2 pods will produce pollen an fertilise your bud this isnt a nessecerilly a bad thing as ive discovered that that this pollen when put onto another feminized plant will actually give you feminized seeds( its how DP make fem seeds but its more complicated 4 other strains)
so im keeping my pollen for later in flower to get more feminized seeds
bid personelly reccomend blueberry the buds are in 2-3 weeks flower and are twice the size of the SC
