I am growing a few pepper plants in pots in my backyard. after growing a few really nice sized peppers, my plants seem like they don't want to grow any more. the flowers on them open up for a couple days, but before any pepper can begin to grow out of it, it shrivels up and dies. i haven't had any new peppers start growing in weeks. any ideas?

Are you removing the ripe peppers from the plant? The presence of ripe or overripe fruit on pepper plants can supress its ability to produce more.

my pepperincini plants almost pop new peppers overnite, (as long as I keep picking the ripe ones) ... she likes being 'used' :D

Is it a red variety, or meant to ripen green?
It's only when they are fully to over ripe that it can be an issue.
If they are supposed to turn red, and are still green, let them go longer.

I am growing jalapenos, okra, tabasco peppers, and tomatoes...I really enjoy being able to walk garden and pick fresh veggies for dinner:) As long as you water the plants regularly and pick the veggies a few times a week, you really can't go wrong. I also have a huge flowerbed full of multi colored impatiens(one of my favorite flowers) that I planted monthes ago, and they're doing very well. There is also a HUGE Rosemary bush on the side of our house that was here when we moved in, so I've been using that on baked chicken. I enjoy gardening...if I had a bigger yard, I would be growing all kinds of vegetables:D If anyone has any good recipes for rosemary, please share;)

Rosemary? Sure.
Chop the leaves up fine, add a little olive oil and lemon juice, add some crushed black peppercorns, sage, and salt to taste.
Mix into a paste.
When you go to roast a chicken, smear the paste inside the body cavity, and UNDER the skin.
It's pretty damn good. This is how I roast chickens these days, it started out as an experiment, and my family loved it. My mom luckily doesn't get offended when I pretty much boot her out of the kitchen before holiday meals.
