Hello again everyone - here are a couple of my babies @ 5 weeks, 3rd week under 2 x 400w MH.

They're recovering well after light burn, and are growing rapidly (i did a little check yesterday, the leaves are growing at a rate of approximately 1.5" every day)..

Now i know this is a bit of an ambiguous question, and I also know that a lot of factors come into it, but does anyone know the possible yield? I am going to veg until September 16th (12 weeks - i.e. another 8 weeks), and then swap to 2 x 400w HPS to flower for apx 2 months. I'm not planning on topping the plants as the internodal growth is good anyway so I can't really see the point.

It would be interesting to have at least a vague idea!

Looking forward to your opnions on the plants, and my question.

Can't tell the yield, but if you keep up that method you should be fine, just change to bigger pot when the plant is root bound and keep posting to get advice from the more experienced growers.

Thanks for the info N.S. - they're in 11litre pots right now.. you really think i'll have to change up?

OK well i'll re-phrase the question I asked yesterday - does anyone have experience of growing under 800w MH/HPS? What kind of yield should I expect after vegging for 3 months/flowering for 2 months?

Any thoughts would be appreciated....

Exact same pots as mine...You should get at least 100g per plant, and I'm trying to be conservative here. Sounds like you could get 150g - 200g if they stay healthy all the way. They're looking very nice, btw.

Wait a minute...THREE months veg? Maybe even more. I think you'll only get guesses here, because hardly anyone will have vegged that long (except Stinkyattic...she's done it all ;)). Thats almost the time for two normal crops.

And no, I don't think 11L pots will last 5 months grow.

Thanks for the compliment Faithlessxxx, nice to hear.

I'm amazed! I'm presuming you're talking wet weight here, not dry?

I'm vegging for three months out of habit, although I'd best mention my last grow was outdoors, and in the UK (not reknowed for our summers!).. so I didn't really have much choice.

Now the pots - 11 litres is about 2.5 US gallons? I figured that would be plenty but i'm open to suggestions. What size would you recommend?

Oh i've included some more pics of the biggest plant (grown and spread out since yesterday!!), and some of the grow room, which is still under construction somewhat. Not bad for a spare cellar room I've got though. Total setup was around £500 - £200 on the lights, rest on Mylar, plastic sheeting, pots, flouros, propagator and of course seeds etc etc.

I need to get more ventilation in there though so am gonna stick another fan in there next week. Even with our crappy summer it must be 80c in there - as you'll see there's leaf burn on there, although one of the plants seems more succeptable than the others. Not sure why though? The lights are about 36" from the plants right now.

Anyway. Thanks for the input Faithlessxxx, keep me posted on your grow!

most grows that ive read about, use from 3-5 gallons, 5 reportedly being better. and there isnt any reason to veg for 3 months unless you are trying to get huge plants. 2 months should be fine. though i did mine in 2 gallon pots but it was only a 14 wk grow and they did get rootbound. plus your room is a lot better than mine ever was, so i would expect some really nice plants from yours.

you can grow monsters in a #5 pot (which, while commonly called "five-gallon", is really more like "3-gallon") ... :smokin:

Thanks for the compliments guys (or gals!?)... its good to know i'm on the right track...

Mmm OK well thanks for all you're input on this - i may, or may not goto 5gal.. was just thinking it might be a pain to repot monster plants in a months time. I know a US gallon is smaller than a UK gallon tho, just cant remember by how much!

The growroom isn't that fancy btw, i live in a 100yr old stone built house, with a massive cellar (about 150 sq feet)- the growroom is in a side room of that. Approx 6' x 6' and about 9' high. Me and a mate just nailed 17sq/mtrs of mylar to the walls and ceiling, with a heavy duty PU flooring. Its pretty permanent. I also left the wiring to my mate but to be honest it was easy to set up.

I've included a couple more pics of the room.

I'll be asking more questions soon; there's no smell at the moment (obviously), but i've read that Hempstar is a particularly pungent strain, so will have to invest in a carbon filter, or something, at some point. Depends if the smell can be contained within the cellar, or the house (there's just me and my wife so noone else to worry about)...

Thanks again everyone, I'll keep posting weekly updates...

Bye for now, be stealthy!

Well i read up on your grow Faithlessxxx, you certainly seem to know what you're doing...I would have posted a reply but I suppose I'm a newbie to the indoor scene.. If there's one thing that gets me on this site is mis-information from people who don't know what they're doing.. You, and the others who've replied to me are certainly not in that category!

Keep on growin man, will wait to see how you're babies turn out.

PS - DRY WEIGHT!?! Holy shit!!

Heh, thanks, my grow is a joke at the moment, but thats due to problems out of my hands, lol...;)

I have 4 grows behind me (well 6, but 2 were interrupted), but during that time, I've battled 'em all, impossible temps, spidermites, hermies, you name it, and thats what you learn from lol.
The real pros here are people like Stinky attic though.

Yeah, I mean veg for 3 months? Your main cola alone will be the size of a donkeys **"%##%**!!!...lol

I have a friend who likes to veg for ages, and even though I'm not that impressed at his plants, skinny and wide node interspacing, he always gets the main cola alone to about 30g. The bigger the plant, the bigger the cola.
